Big Horn Valley Ranch

This is one of the best fishing lodges I’ve ever been to. Our guide, Chad went well beyond his duties to make sure we caught fish and had a good time. The chef Hermann made the most wonderful food and Candace. The concierge was just wonderful., She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Plus this place is very reasonably priced.

We were unable to reserve a campsite here. It looked like a good place to stay in an area where there is very little except fly shops. We did arrange for a guided fly fishing trip in the Big Horn with Chad. The fishing was very good. Chad knew the best places on the river and went to great effort to assure our trip was a success.

I would not classify Big Horn Valley Ranch cabins as luxury accommodations. There are several issues that potential guests should be aware of: Bathroom amenities:** The bathroom lacks a shower; instead, there is a bathhouse, but there are no instructions provided on its location or how to access it if you check in late. The vanity sink appears to be a low-cost unit from a home improvement store, and the bathroom was incomplete—trimmed out but unpainted and unstained. There was only one washcloth provided, no towels or hand towel, and no mirror in the bathroom. The lighting was inadequate, with only one bulb in the fixture, and there was no garbage can. Just returned from an incredible 4 day 5 night stay. We had fantastic Guides, Ryan and Chad. They both worked very hard to optimize the float each day. We caught many large and wild trout, mostly in the 17-23 inch range. The Chef, Herman, was absolutely fantastic! Gourmet breakfasts and dinners with great lunches on the river each day. (He should be on Master Chef)! Candace was a great addition to the culinary team and also did the Housekeeping. She was fantastic too! The 4 star rating for the Rooms is in the process of being handled with the addition off sinks and toilets being added to each room. Simply a great and wonderful experience all around!

5 nights lodging/4 days of fishing. Fantastic week! Every single person made us feel very welcome. Chef Herman fed us like kings. Our guides (Chad & Ryan) worked extremely hard getting us on fish. We enjoyed our time on the water with them. The large, wild trout were a blast to get to the net. Candace served us mornings & evenings and was a joy to be around.
