Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel

I had a great experience at the Kimpton. The highlights are the outdoor spaces, the staff and the convenience! My only complaints are that the rooms are slightly outdated, including the beds which are too soft for my personal taste. That being said, they were very clean and there is plenty of storage space. Lastly, I wish the outdoor bar was open later! The staff here makes the experience really wonderful - everyone was so incredibly accommodating and kind. The first day our room was not cleaned (I believe this was a miscommunication) so the next day I let them know and they promptly serviced our room. Hi, I wanted to leave a positive comment about the hotel because honestly, the food is delicious, the space and atmosphere are great, and there's a really good vibe. Above all, I wanted to highlight the excellent service from Julián in the pool area. He truly made us feel right at home. Highly recommended!

I had one of the worst hotel stays of my life here, which was shocking given the price and the “four-star” branding. We were celebrating my friend’s bachelorette and paid over $600/night for what felt like a one-star experience. We arrived late on Feb 5 and the front desk agent was unfriendly and acted like checking us in was a chore. We called a week ahead to request rooms near each other, yet we were placed in separate towers. When I asked if we could at least be in the same tower, the agent immediately said “no” without checking—then only after I pushed did she look and say, “oh wait, there are two in the same tower.” So it clearly was possible. We also paid extra for city views, and the views were completely misrepresented: one room looked into a courtyard and the other faced a wall

Positive: The customer service was great! Negative: Reported twice that my toilet would not fill up with water. Also the water was turned off everyday from 3pm-5pm.. Issue was that we did not get the notice that the maintenance was taking place until everyone started calling the front desk for answers

This is my second time spending the day at this location. First time was renting a cabana for my birthday in 2025. It was wonderful. This time 2026 we got a day room from resortpass.com. We had a beautiful day at the beach as well as the pool. We spent most of the day at the pool. Service at the pool was excellent our waiter was amazing! Once in the room I called the front desk and there was NO service. We kept getting hung up on. I have no idea what that was about but everything other than not being able to get the front desk was good. It is over priced but location and pool amenities were really good. Food was good also. There is definitely room for some improvements but overall enjoyed the beautiful day.
