Kimpton Ashbel New York - Park Avenue

I recently stayed at the Kimpton Ashbel Hotel and had such a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was truly exceptional. Every member of the staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to help, which made us feel incredibly welcome. What was especially impressive is that this is a brand-new hotel. Often with new properties there can be a few growing pains, but that was absolutely not the case here. Everything felt seamless and thoughtfully executed. The rooms, lobby, and common areas were all pristine- beautifully designed, fresh, and immaculately maintained. I would absolutely recommend staying here and look forward to returning.

I agree with the many reviews listed below mine. If I could give a negative rating I would. We booked this hotel back in September for December 26-30th. The hotel is apparently under renovations and they are not complete. We got a cancellation email 9days prior to our trip to the city with many non refundable activities booked. When contacting IHG, I was disconnected 4 times speaking with 5 representatives. None of the representatives were able to find accommodations within the city for 4 guests. The last manager I spoke to stated the best solution would be to book two hotel rooms at a higher rate at our expense. We had to book a hotel with a different chain and much higher rate. When we called back to IHG to make this right. A rep offered 25k points, transferred us to a senior manager who

Absolutely loved my stay at the Kimpton Ashbel! This new hotel is perfectly located — you can walk just about everywhere, with tons of great restaurants and bars right around the corner. It’s the kind of spot that makes exploring New York easy and fun. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which gave the hotel a warm, relaxed vibe from the moment I arrived. It feels fresh, stylish, and already like a place I want to come back to again and again. I’m counting down the days until the coffee shop opens — that’ll be the finishing touch. Until then, I’ll just have to plan my next visit. Can’t wait to return!

This was unfortunately the most disappointing Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants property I’ve stayed at. I understand it’s a newer hotel and still finding its footing, but the experience didn’t live up to what I’ve come to expect from the Kimpton brand, especially for the cost of the room. The biggest challenge is the size of the rooms. They are extremely small and felt more like a cruise ship cabin than a hotel room. The bathroom was almost unusable given its size. I could barely get my shoulders through the doorway, which made the space feel very cramped. The room layout also didn’t feel well thought out. The design seemed a bit sloppy, with visible cords hanging out and the coffee maker positioned so close to the TV that it actually hit the bottom of it when used. Small details like that
