Kaskades Hotel South Beach

Kaskades has a lot going for it. The location is excellent, just a short walk to the beach, with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. The design is modern and thoughtful, and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. We especially appreciated the generous closet and dresser space, which made it easy for three women to unpack comfortably for a girls’ trip. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful, and while there is a bit of traffic noise, the hotel is far enough from bars and nightlife to avoid late-night disruption. That said, there are a few areas that need improvement, especially given the price point. Several bathroom lightbulbs were burnt out, which made getting ready more difficult than it should have been. what a joke of a hotel this is. firstly we were told the deposit never went through even though the payment was taken from my account and the eftpos machine said approved. next we were told we had to pay $39usd per night for amenities. What sort of hotel has an extra charge to use the pool, body wash and have your room cleaned! absolutely ridiculous. we didn’t even have our room cleaned half the time. hairs everywhere, the balcony was a disgrace with dirt and frap everywhere. not to mention these charges are hidden. i booked through travel agent and was told i booked through expedia which is why i had to pay the fee. very very dodgy place. there’s no bar, pool is closed at night apparently and with my room hardly being cleaned plus hair everywhere i was never getting new towels or body wa

The hotel is decent. The ice machine was across the street in their sister hotel. A few things like the safe and drain in the shower wasn't working but was fixed timely. The bathroom is different so just be prepared for that. Comfortable bed. The microwave and refrigerator were very convenient. The balcony is a plus! The hotel is located near multiple stores and restaurants. A beach is 2 blocks away and the heart of south beach is about 7 blocks away. The staff is excellent! From the front desk, to housekeeping, to maintenence, everyone was very pleasant, always! I would stay again. Thank you staff!

This was my first time ever booking a hotel, and it was completely ruined by this experience. I had just turned 21 and drove all the way from Ohio to Miami, trusting the pictures online. What we walked into was NOTHING like what was shown online. The room was dirty, run-down, and smelled like dog poop. There were stains on the floors, walls, pillows, and furniture. Open vents, chipped paint, visible water damage, and a nasty bathroom. The toilet seat was yellowed and disgusting. This was unacceptable. We were so uncomfortable that we had no choice but to leave. As a result, we had to spend an additional $900 to book an Airbnb last minute. If we had not had the money, we would have been completely stranded. I'm giving this place 2 stars only because the room we eventually stayed in was nice. The service from the brunette woman with the glasses at the front desk, however, was unacceptable. When we arrived on the first day, we couldn’t check in due to a maintenance issue and were sent to a hotel across the street. The room there was nothing like what we paid for (less than half the size, with barely enough space to open our suitcases). We endured one uncomfortable night before returning to our original hotel, where the room finally matched what we booked. At checkout, we asked about a refund for that first night, since we were placed in a completely inadequate room due to their maintenance problem.
