Kama Central Park

I had a very nice and comfortable stay in Kama Central hostel in New York! One of the best hostels I’ve ever been to and the place and people there make it a unique experience for sure! I stayed from Dec 1-17 and I spent some good time meeting a lot of people there. I enjoyed going out with few of them and exploring the city together, there’s so much to do in New York city. It’s located in a peaceful neighborhood next to Central Park, very close to few grocery markets and 5' from the nearest subway and takes 20' to get to Times Sauare. The room and the pod were nice and clean, the cleaning ladies do an excellent job, they clean the rooms and the bathrooms every day. Kama Central Park has a great location with the subway very close, making it easy to move around New York City. The staff were helpful, especially Nyala, who was very supportive during my stay.||The private rooms are quite small, and there is very limited space for luggage, which can be inconvenient if you’re traveling with big bags. However, the pod beds are surprisingly spacious and offer excellent privacy, almost like having your own small private room.||One downside is that the property does not have an elevator. You need to take the lift only up to the 5th floor and then use stairs, which can be difficult with luggage.||That said, considering how few affordable hostel options exist in NYC, Kama Central Park stands out as one of the better places to stay. Kama Central Park is an ideal place for budget travellers going to New York. It's a 3 minute walk from the nearest subway station with connections to Downtown. The beds are comfortable. The staff were also friendly upon check-in.The facilities could be improved a little - the showers are small and there is no space to put dry clothing or change in privacy, the beds don't have power sockets - only USB. The air conditioning in the individual beds is appreciated however is also loud but not very effective.However I did enjoy my stay at Kama Central Park and I'd recommend it to those on a budget.

I stayed at this hostel around October and really liked the vibe. The receptionist was welcoming and friendly, which immediately made me feel at ease. I also made friends during my stay, making it perfect for solo travellers. The showers were clean, and the fact that toiletries were provided was a brilliant. I also loved the beds: they were comfortable, and the pod-style curtains offered good privacy, which was perfect for a quick afternoon nap to unwind. The location was great—close to many beautiful sights such as Times Square, DUMBO, and the Brooklyn Bridge—so it was definitely worth it. I also felt safe walking around at any time of day, especially at night and the metro station was close to the hostel too and Central Park is near which is awesome to explore or simply go for a walk!

Overall had a good experience! My room and pod were nice and clean, bathrooms were also nice and clean! When i needed a new towel the staff got me one immediately! The only problem is they did not provide luggage storage, they had very small lockers in the rooms but that was it. I had to put my very large suitcase into my pod which was a bit difficult. Location is very convenient and about a 2 minute walk away from the subway! Check in process was also very seamless and i love that they have codes for the doors and not “room keys”! Very convenient! Would definitely recommend this place! Prices are also unbeatable!
