Kadoka West Hotel LLC

This is an adorable 'Ma and Pa place' about 15 minutes East of the Badlands entrance. Owned by super nice, family friendly people. Some rooms are pet friendly as well for a very small fee. Rooms are not fancy but the beds are comfy and the rooms are very clean. It was VERY hot the day we were there but after a few minutes the AC started cooling the room nicely. We found this place on AirBNB and we are very glad we did!

The older woman who owns the motel and is also the front desk assistant was EXTREMELY nice and understanding. My friend and I had nowhere to go while it was raining heavily and she let us check in three hours before "normal" check in time. The room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom was tidy as well. The room itself made me feel at home. A great motel.

We were happy to find a vacancy at this off the beaten path motel. A ferocious rain storm and Sturgis bikers took up all the rooms from Mt. Rushmore heading east. We paid $60.00 for a room that is probably less under normal circumstances. I'd have gladly paid more on that late night. Previous motels were sold out or charging up to $250.00 / night.....disgraceful! I loved the "weathered" motel-keeper. The room was clean, Wi-Fi good and I slept well. Can't ask for anything more than that. (We had our own coffee-maker.) Outside , in the morning, was a plethora of photo ops including a phone booth, tractors and a water tower with the city's name. Americana is cool. It wasn't the best place we stayed in during our cross-country trip. But it was memorable.

Under the circumstances we were in...our experience was amazing, checking in to housekeeping were amazing. If my only issue was moving the microwave to use it because of no electrical socket...it's a win. Very clean and comfortable. Staff went out of their was in personal vehicles to make sure we didn't go without.Hope to see them again!!!

Moving across country last year, we found ourselves here. It was one of the unexpected highlights of the trip! Somehow, this little place simultaneously felt like the set of a horror movie (in the good way...like before everybody dies) and sweet old grandma's house rolled into one. The lovely lady behind the counter was so sweet, she even stayed an extra half hour for us to find the place before closing up for the night. It was the best stop on our 2,200 mile journey. The room was clean, the shower hot, and the atmosphere was pure road trip bliss! I will be back one day!
