Americas Best Value Inn Kadoka

I stayed here 1 night while traveling after having vehicle issues. I want to emphasize just how kind the people are who work here were to me. This was one of the most stressful days of my life and they were so helpful in many ways. I got a room on very short notice. It was clean and cozy. In the morning my Truck wouldn't start due to the cold and they let me borrow an extension cord to plug in my engine block and let it warm up. When checkout time came they didn't make me leave and allowed me to wait till my truck would start before checking out. I can't put into words how grateful I am to them.

This was a good distance from the badlands and wall drug. Everything was clean and comfortable and the microwave and refrigerator were nice, too. It was just what we needed on our trip. Make sure you stop and feed the prairie dogs at the ranch/ store on the way into or out of the badlands, spending on whether you enter from the east or West. So worth it.

Good, quiet stay at a reasonable price. The room was basic and perhaps dated but clean and cozy. Staff were very accommodating with our dogs (pet friendly!) and our need for late checkout. Strong WiFi, which is a must for a remote worker like myself. I would stay there again if I ever find myself in Kadoka in the future.

The room was nice, the bed was comfortable and shower was hot. They have a hot breakfast, everyone was helpful. The main reason I lowered the rating so much was I didn’t feel safe. There was no extra lock on the door, there had been a chain lock at some point, but only the fittings were there, no chain. The window could be opened and had no stop. I kept my pepper spray next to me.

Horrible water pressure, wore out beds, hard pillows, don’t respect truck drivers. 0 degrees outside so I was going to idle my truck because it’s doesn’t like cold starts. I stayed the night before and my truck barely started when it was 12 degrees at 9 pm. Desk lady gave my room number to another guest who was quite rude about it waking me up at 10:30.I explained to him about starting diesel motors in the cold but he didn’t care. It completely screwed up my sleep as I have a hard time getting to sleep and can’t fall back asleep for hours. Had to leave at 12:30 because of this and because the bed was so uncomfortable. I told the desk lady it was disrespectful giving another guest my room number and she responded that I was disrespectful for calling to ask for a refund as I was leaving.
