John F Kennedy Campground

I have been coming here since I was a child. We finally made it to the top and got to explore the 2 caves. So excited that they finally opened up the gate so we can drive right to the trailhead. Can't wait to go back and hike the other trail.

Terrible experience. It wasn't the 17 miles of goat path to get there. It was the disappointment that the state LOCKED the gate to get in. So angry.

It's always nice here, but you can't always get all the way to the trail head without walking an extra mile. It's a fairly rough road to get in. There are no facilities. All that said, there are generally very few people hiking and that's nice when you want peace and quiet

Down miles & miles of unmaintained roads to find it all locked up! Why aren't the campgrounds notated as closed???Very disappointing. After walking around the area, up to the trailhead & beyond- anyone who made it down the miles of road to get there could have easily camped in the campgrounds without issue despite the poor conditions of the roads within the closed area.

The campground itself has not been maintained nor has the road getting there. That being said, there is very little traffic so you may find some peace and quiet.
