Great location — just a 5-minute drive from downtown Jim Thorpe. The staff were excellent and very friendly, even offering options for getting downtown, including a free shuttle from nearby Lake State Park. Restroom and shower areas were clean and well-maintained. The cabins are older but have a charming rustic vibe. We weren’t expecting luxury, so the stay was satisfactory — typical cabin experience. The beds weren’t the most comfortable, but that was expected. Overall, a solid choice for a convenient, economical, no-frills cabin stay near Jim Thorpe.

We spent 5 lovely nights in mid-October at Jim Thorpe Camping Resort. Our only critique is that this campground is quite tight, even with our little 20-foot travel trailer (i.e., our picnic table was 3-feet from our neighbor’s sewer hose and the end of our awning was about 10 feet from touching our neighbor’s camper). For context, we were at site 61 when looking at the campground map. ||That being said, the trees are big, beautiful, and provide ample shade for each site. The trees were especially stunning when we stayed because they were at their peak color change. The campground is also just a short 2-mile drive from the historic town of Jim Thorpe, which is chock full of cute shops and delicious restaurants. Jim Thorpe was having their immensely popular Fall Festival on the weekend days

So had to cancel my original plans and choose an alt for this area to bike for the weekend. Wanted the state park nearby and was full. Campsites are are way too crowded together and over priced. Bathroom stalls barely adequate and shower stalls not enough. Motion metered sinks all cold water try shaving with that. Worst of unlike state parks it's not a dry campground so you get so called adults who are noiser than children and more obnoxious. Sat night they decided to have a rock concert that was so over amped it could have been heard in a stadium. Many campers too off after it got rolling to avoid the noise. I was assigned the wrong space and came back to find someone else moving. They don't lock the dumpsters so a black bear wandered in to raid the trash. Noise is the number one com

Have been going here since I was a little girl, great atmosphere and lots of wildlife. Stayed in cabins as well as tent sites. Has a pool and rv hookups and a great lake for fishing or swimming close by.

Definitely not a resort. We have a small camper van and we’re put in a tent sight along the road. We were so close to the tents next to us they were literally 5ft from our picnic table which was tight to the van. Traffic on the road is very loud. The shed rest rooms were not fun. For the showers they gave you just enough hot water to not be miserable. It was chilly out side so the fact that when you washed your hands in the sink it was ice cold water only. Even the paper towels were so cheap they just stick to your hands and fall apart. Paper towel pieces all over the floor. Quiet time was not enforced at all. Music and kids yelling all night. I will say the staff was very friendly. They did allow us to move to a new site the next day.
