Island Hide-A-Way Campground

Stayed here a couple years ago. Very friendly staff. Quiet place, not for loud wild bunches. Showers were nice. Couldn't get ahold of anyone one the phone so pulled my camper there hoping they had a spot available. To my luck they had one spot. Willing to help direct you into your parking. Absolute best price in the area. Pet friendly, allowed small fire and corn hole but we put the boards up at dark so we didn't disturb anyone.

Called the owner at 11:30 pm because my sister and I didn't have reservations anywhere. Gentleman asked if I could back my rig up, and I said yes. He said, "You go past my house take the 4th spot on the left. I'll see you tomorrow. |Extremely quiet place and super clean. Highly recommend.

I can see why this place has a perfect review score. It’s quiet. It’s nice. It’s peaceful. The owner is really nice. The hook ups are new and they work perfectly. I think the biggest downside to the place is if some bad campers come in here. So be nice!! Don’t come in here and be loud and annoying. It’s a wonderful place. And look at this. I didn’t expect to see this out my window.

Found this campground, a hidden gem. Great for an overnight or two. Excellent for a smaller RV or Truck-camper. Super clean, maintained and awesomely friendly host. Close to everything including Orange Blossom Bakery. Loved it here at Island Hide away. Our next trip back to hattaras we will be staying here. Thank you!

I refuse to Camp anywhere else on Buxton. The Owners are Incredible. Bathhouses are Spotless. Ponds are filled with turtles. You'll wake up to deer outside the door of your tent. And the beach is in walking distance if you aren't lazy. ✌️ Can't wait for Summer.
