Excellent condition, and the sounds of the waves lulled us to sleep. The bathrooms are also very convenient to the tent camping sites.
If I could give this place 10 stars I would!! We recently spent 4 days here during the 4th of July holiday and it was great. The grounds are very well cared for, and the bathrooms are very clean. It's location is absolutely awesome, you can access multiple beaches by vehicle or on foot. The campsites are good size, and very cheap "20 per night". There is not any power for the campsites however you can use a generator from 6 am - 10 pm. It was very quiet, and we totally enjoyed our visit here. I 100 % recommend this place if you are wanting to camp in this area.
This was my first tent camping experience at the beach. I was reluctant to stay here without electricity or a hot shower, plus no shade. Bathrooms are on-site, but again no hot water for hand washing. On the positive, the drawstring, cool shower turned out to be one my favorite parts of the day. It was refreshing and invigorating after a hot day in the sun. The location was perfect as we did lots of kayaking in the Pamlico Sound. I loved waking up to see the lighthouse and walking on the nearby beach at sunset. The cool evening breezes made sleeping a breeze as well. We splurged on an off-road vehicle pass so we could drive on the beach and follow the dunes. We had one stormy night so I definitely recommend sturdy stakes as the wind can be strong. Our dome tent did fine, though it was a
Very affordable, clean restrooms, but a lot of the sites were flooded when we were there
I really enjoyed the scenery. It was so calm and peaceful. The fishing was amazing! First time I've seen the ocean and fished it and landed an amazing stingray! Site was nice. Could have been mowed but wasn't there much more than to sleep. Showers were freezing cold to the point of being painful and no lighting which was a pain. But overall I can't wait to come back again, just need somewhere else to shower
