InterContinental San Diego by IHG

Excellent place to stay in for our family. Big change compared to Hollywood LA for the better! Only thing is the shower, low water pressure and a bit confusing to navigate for our simple folks.

InterContinental San Diego is one of those stays that instantly makes your trip easier. The location is ridiculously convenient, steps from the marina and right in the middle of everything fun, so you can walk to entertainment, waterfront strolls, and last minute plans without thinking twice. The amenities genuinely deliver. The gym is impressive, the rooftop pool is warm and feels like a real escape, and the on site restaurants make it easy to keep the whole stay seamless. Service was strong throughout, polished and friendly, and the rooftop bar is the kind of iconic spot you end up talking about after you leave. The room itself is really solid. It's always a pleasure to stay at the Intercontinental San Diego. The waterfront location is beautiful, and conveniently located across from the Amtrak station and the nearby airport. The facility is clean and modern, with comfortable rooms and amenities. As a frequent guest, I've been impressed with the food and beverage offerings. The staff are friendly and professional, and have been very responsive to suggestions received on guest surveys. I recommend this property and look forward to my next stay.

I’m going to be honest…. This place isn’t really cool. First off the valet guys are really prompt with the service. Shane was very respectful, Pedro was attentive and Ramsey ( I believe that’s his name ) was super funny. The hotel staff was very welcoming and the rooms are AMAZING. Last but not least the parking garage was super clean. Good job guys ! Definitely will visit again.

This intercontinental is much better than the one in Los Angeles. The breakfast is pretty good, the staff is helpful. I do wish intercontinental would stop employing overseas call centers for Guest service requests. At this price range, you do not want to be dealing with a call center that’s not even on the same continent. There’s no reason why when you are staying at a hotel, the phones should be answered for things like towels, etc., by anyone other than people locally at the property.When you tell them to transfer you to the front desk at the actual property, some of them give you grief. I am really glad that this property lets you rent microwaves, unlike other intercontinental hotels.
