Customer Reviews
I stayed for 4 nights Feb 2026. Breakfast was great! Staff was good overall. Location was great and very walkable, near some other nice hotels. The Carnegie library monument near the hotel became a drinking/weed gathering spot around 4pm and people would ask for money. I would choose an alternate walking route. Sometimes homeless were sitting outside the side of this hotel (not bothering anyone). The curtains do not close all the way and are water stained from the heater. I had to use the pants hanger to clip them closed. Since rooms open to the outside, anyone can see if you are there or not. However, access to the hotel itself is restricted - otherwise it would have been unsafe. The TV has basic cable of 7 channels. I didn't get any information on wifi if they did have it. It is definite
We stayed here in December 2025, just before renovations were starting. The staff were really great, and the breakfast was nice - waffle machine, eggs, sausage and grits. Location is really great. However, the hotel was much more run down than we expected - one elevator was regularly broken, carpet had an odd smell, a hole in the door let wind through. A lot of it was odd mismatches - a newly tiled shower with a rusty air vent that didn't work; a bed nicely made without a blanket (which staff provided on request). While we were concerned about bugs, we did not see any on our trip. Rooms are small, but suitable. The garage is small but feels much more secure than an open lot or garage. A good deal for the price.
Positive: The location was great and the breakfast was decent. Negative: There were roaches in our room, coming from the baseboard. After killing 5 within 10 minutes, the front desk they changed our room to one, they said, we’re sure did not have the problem. Bathrooms were minuscule. Not enough towels. Renovations happening.
The front desk to make or break your experience. We were greeted by Richie Rich who could not stop smiling. His enthusiasm for his job and making sure we had a great experience was infectious. All of the front desk people were fantastic at their job. They were knowledgeable about the area and went out of their way to help in any way they could. Georgia, the breakfast hostess keeps an amazingly clean breakfast area and made sure the food got out on time and piping hot., we walked to the aquarium and then we also walked to restaurants. We parked our car we arrive and we didn't get it out until it was time to leave. We definitely will be back later on this year. I certainly hope management sees this and let them know they are doing a good job and appreciate them.
The young man working the front desk was awesome! Very friendly and helpful. They are renovating but everything was nice and clean. Really neat hotel just blocks from the hospital. Highly recommended!
