Great experience. The room was huge, the view of the bay the was beautiful, and bed was comfortable. Very convenient location on base. It was nice having laundry facilities on site with the only cost being the soap, which we brought from home. I hope to stay at this location again in the future!
Nestled on a hilltop within the Presidio of Monterey, the IHG Army Hotel offers beautiful views of Monterey Bay. In the morning, you can hear seabirds and even distant sea lions, creating a peaceful coastal atmosphere. The hotel provides comfortable accommodations, a complimentary breakfast, and truly outstanding hospitality. Access is limited to active-duty personnel, retirees, and service-connected veterans, but if you qualify, it is an excellent place to stay while visiting Monterey.
Marie was very sweet upon check-in. She recognized our IHG status not once but twice. I would've given 5 stars for everything but the heater in our room was very noisy. Other than that it was perfect.
This hotel has more broken heaters than space heaters available. Meaning- my very young children did not have heat at night until my husband made a big enough fuss and we got a space heater by night 2 (luckily I did not have an infant with me, or that would have been a more intense health and safety concern). Coming from Hawaii my children were shivering and very uncomfortable, to the point of crying, because they were so cold at night. This MUST be fixed for the families that use this facility. I can overlook a dingy and dirty hotel, but heat is a basic standard of living that cannot be excused. I attempted an ICE comment and, surprisingly, the IHG is not an option to leave a comment on.
The hotel does the job. Great nightly rate for Monterey that can’t be beat. I stayed in the two bedroom suite that had 2 beds in one room and a big bed in the other. Because it was a two bedroom suite, I expected a kitchenette, but it only had a small mini fridge and a microwave. I wish that would’ve been more clear. My chief complaint besides that is the lack of drawers that would have made an extended stay much more comfortable and less chaotic The cleaning service was great and as scheduled. The showers don’t have a light in them because they are on the older side. I’d be aware that barn doors are used for the doors that adjoin the bathroom between the rooms and no lock exists for future guests. I also couldn’t figure out how the overhead light and fan worked, sometimes the light in my
