Idle Hour Lodge

We love to stay here for our little getaways. Dorthy and her husband are always amazing. All of the cabins we have stayed in have been fantastic. They are all fully equipped with a kitchen and items you would need. They have very comfortable beds and a fireplace. They are located within walking distance to a grocery store and a short drive to downtown and many restaurants. I would highly recommend Idel Hour Cabins to anyone looking to relax and getaway in Ruidoso.

I would definitely recommend Idle Hour Lodge. It was a nice, rustic cabin which was spotless and warm. My two teenage daughters and my husband all loved the back deck overlooking the trees, and the beds were warm and comfortable. The check-in and check- out was very easy also, and Dorothy is easy to reach by text. We would stay there again for sure!

"I feel like I'm in a Hallmark movie!" - Sue (My friend's mother who joined us on the trip from Connecticut). There were four of us (3 adults and 1 toddler) who shared a 2-bedroom cabin and it was perfect for us. Upon entering we squealed with delight at the sight of cookies and a small lit Christmas tree! It's the little things, ya know? The walk into town is easy and there is grocery store very close to the cabins. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay. Dorothy was quick to reply about any questions I had, and she was a delight to meet! I highly recommend staying at Idle Hour Lodge. We are already looking forward to our next stay there!

This place is great. They are so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Very pet friendly. The cabins were quaint, clean and comfortable. Older and small but perfect all the same. Dorothy is very responsive to all your questions. I chose these cabins because they were by far the most helpful and friendly. They did not disappoint. Plan to use them whenever I go back.

This is probable 5th time we have stayed here. This time was cabin 14. After getting reservation completed with ease, had email telling cabin. Upon arrival the cabin was open with key on table. The cabin was spotless clean, smelled wonderful and temperature was perfect. Cabin had a large porch with comfortable metal chairs and bench. Bed was good, had a loveseat with cover at end of bed for TV watching. Sitting chair with lamp to read paper. Multiple towels and wash cloths. Refrigerator, small stove and microwave in good shape. The host, Dorothy, did a quick check on us with nothing additional needed for check in. Any needs I fell would have been taken care of, but there were NO NEEDS. It is an easy walk up the road to get groceries, milk or beer if needed. Quiet at night time
