Customer Reviews
Positive: Cute place Negative: Rusty old water stains in the bathroom. Its fine for a guy, but a female wouldn't appreciate this.
The lobby was locked when we arrived and had to call for someone to check us in. We were immediately hit with hidden fees. The air conditioning is so loud you can’t sleep with it on so you’re going to get hot. Walls are so thin you hear every word and noise made. It’s the Keys so you’ll be up all night. The door to our room would not shut properly and had a gaping crack. Beware if life happens and you have an emergency you will not get a refund for the days you can’t stay. They are more than happy to keep your money and lie about it. I think this policy is in place because after one nights stay you’ll never want to come back. We had large ants in our room. The pool was closed. The free breakfast mediocre but the ladies in charge were pleasant. The manager, staff and owner don’t value the c
We LOVED this place. Everone was extremely friendly and helpful. The bar and pool are lovely. We got a bayside room and the beds were extremely comfortable. A/C was perfect. The view from our room was outstanding with a small patio and hammock. At 5pm I was able to feed the sharks which was really fun. We did see one cockroach on our very last day, but hey... it's Florida. We did need to take Lyft into the main part of Key West, about $15-$20 one way for aprox 10 min ride, but it's worth it avoid parking hassles. There is a resort fee, but it was not outrageous. The TV was a little odd, we couldn't find a network, but they had, like, a thousand neat channels like the All MST3K channel which we found very fun.
The resort has a nice retro look from the outside, which initially gives a good impression. However, the inside feels more like a typical motel you would find off a freeway. I would say it’s a decent stay, but it’s definitely not worth $400 per night.
The property tries to market a “retro” look from the outside, but inside it’s all appearance and no substance. The room felt worn out rather than vintage, with deteriorating mirrors visibly shedding metallic backing, which is unacceptable from a maintenance and safety standpoint. Cleanliness was poor. There were chunks of hair and sand on the floor on arrival. The stand-in shower was extremely small and uncomfortable to use, even for a slim person, and basic amenities you would expect in most hotels, like a simple coffee maker or microwave, were missing. Noise was constant, with late-night door banging, heavy foot traffic, and disruptive behaviour that made sleep difficult. The overall environment felt chaotic and poorly managed. Based on this experience, I would not recommend staying here
