Hyatt Place Phoenix/Gilbert

They overbooked so instead of 2 queen beds, it was 1 queen and a very uncomfortable pull out couch. Only one sheet to cover the mattress, none for between me and the scratchy blanket. The blanket smelled like pancake syrup. They ran out of plates and silverware so had to wait around to eat. No offer to give us a discount on the $315 bill. They don't care if we come back. They don't deserve my future business or anyone else's. Stay at your own risk!

I stayed here recently for my son's volleyball tournament. Overall the hotel was ok. The free breakfast opened early 6:30 AM, which is earlier than most hotels and came in handy as we had to leave at 7AM each day. However, the breakfast buffet itself did not have as much fruit or options as I've seen at other Hyatt Place hotels. In addition, two biggest gripes were the shower water not being very hot. The other gripe was I had a second reservation which I cancelled a few weeks prior. I have the cancellation e-mail, but the hotel still had it on file. The front desk was not able to cancel it when I arrived after explaining the situation. The second reservation no longer showed up in my Hyatt App either after I cancelled a few weeks prior. I only realized because I got 2 e-mails for check in

Room wasn’t clean. This was not Hyatt to me. I’ve never been to one that was so unorganized and fell short of house keeping. Something was on the outside of the spare blanket bag, rust on and in shower, hair on pillows, no microwave. We pad for 3 mornings of breakfasted for 3 people and only ate one. The breakfast was chaos, no plates, no help from staff members, one was eating cup of noddle in the middle of service while guest were asking each other where to get plates. Then he brought out one plate at a time. Tables needed clearing, waffle batter dispenser was broken. The staff members opened it from the top and poured it into our cup. Which would have been fine, but after he assisted us he placed it back in the dispenser thing and left it. Allowing other guest to struggle with the same

I have to say that Olivia was amazing and was there for me when I first arrived. She was able to assist me as soon as I arrived and was able to get everything taken care of for me as I arrived in the later evening hours. She was very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas to eat and shop as well as would check up with me in the Lobby to ask how my stay was and if I needed anything. I would definitely recommend this place as she made it a great stay for me and a few family members. Thank you again Olivia for the Farmers Boys recommendation and the French Fries were just as good as you had said. :)

Positive: Perfect location convenient to the mercy hospital campus Negative: breakfast bar ran out of dishes,Milk was sour. It seems like disposable plates would alleviate this. Not sure what Hyatt’s policy is. I usually do other brands.
