Hyatt Place New York/Yonkers

I had a great (brief) stay. The front desk person *Michael Samuels* who checked me in was a GODSEND!! He was excellent, helpful, patient and professional. I was in Riverdale just for a funeral. I was exhausted, having just landed at JFK. He let me check in early so I could wash my face and rest a little before the funeral. He was kind and helpful at a crucial moment in my life. I am extremely grateful for him, and grateful I chose Hyatt! Please add another gold star to his file and buy him a new car.

It Was Nice I Did Some Ghost Hunting There Because Of The Dark History There. nice Service Too! Awesome Foods 10/10 I catched 1 ghost experience there in my hotel room, and that was the door closing by itself, and temperature dropped cold next to me for a few seconds then back up to normal temperature Totally go check it out and ghost hunt there it’s a nice paranormal spot I’m Mew York!

The hotel itself was perfectly fine for what we needed—clean, comfortable, and in a convenient location. However, the breakfast situation was a real disappointment. For a hotel operating at full capacity, the offerings were beyond lacking. “Continental breakfast” shouldn’t translate to the bare minimum, yet that’s exactly how it felt. A simple addition like a waffle machine would have made a world of difference and elevated the whole experience. Overall, the stay was decent, but the breakfast definitely needs attention.

Front desk personnel cancelled our reservations by mistake. Managers first tried to deny the cancellation (said everything was "fine"/"fixed" and checked us in). When the reservation dates in their system were still wrong (different than what we booked and received confirmation for) they tried to blame it on us and the third-party we booked through (said we cancelled on our end, then said third party cancelled), and charged us for the room again. (At the same time I was told there was a miscommunication and that's why the staff cancelled my reservations - so DID THEY OR DID THEY NOT cancel my reservations??) Furthermore, when confronted and left with no excuses, front desk turned downright rude. (When the third-party called and confronted the same front desk staffer, he admitted "the hot

Front desk experience was poor. The receptionist was cold & unwelcoming, and I observed a noticeable difference in how guests were treated, which made the interaction uncomfortable. In addition, my credit card was charged 3 times in error.|||The manager, however, was professional and resolved the issue promptly. Front desk staff need better training in customer service and billing accuracy.||The rooms are clean, and decent. Breakfast is decent
