Hyatt Place New York City / Times Square

We took our children to NYC for the first time and wanted a hotel walking distance to Times Square and this was the perfect place. The hotel was very busy but organized and cleaner than I anticipated. The breakfast every morning was a bonus and made the overall value of the hotel hard to beat. I have stayed in many NYC hotels so I'm accustomed to the smaller rooms and the lack of onsite parking options. Overall, well worth the stay.

Location at Times Square. Service was okay. I called for a tissue box; 30 minutes later, I had to call back to ask again for a tissue box. I will give it 3 stars. Breakfast was good, but I was expecting live egg cooking. Still, breakfast was good. The refund hasn't been processed yet. The lady said she refunded it, but I haven't received it yet. So, make sure before you leave.

It was a very disappointing experience. At check-in on January 28th, a hold of US$1,045.83 was placed on my credit card. At check-out, the amount held was fixed at US$801.83 corresponding to the cost of my stay and charged immediately. To this day, I have still not received the US$1,045.83 back! My bank says the hotel will only release the money again starting March 2nd! One month after check-out! My credit card limit (1500€) was exceeded because of this! Beyond this, right from the day of arrival we had problems with the room door (After one use, the device on the bedroom door ran out of battery) and the safe (which wouldn't open - it kept giving an error). The family vacation at this Hyatt was very pleasant. I requested an early check-in, and they accommodated me, which I was really surprised and happy about. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a little small for a big family, but that's not surprising in Manhattan. The location is perfect, with walking distance to a lot of great places. Pro tip: use the Hyatt app for booking and a better experience. 100% recommend. Will definitely be back.

Went during off season here in Feb. We had a great experience! price was super reasonable for the high-room king bed. Bathroom was a-little cramped but the shower was great! Great walking distance from Penn station and to Times Square and just about everywhere, pretty prime location for how cheap it was. doordash was familiar with dropping off here it seemed so late night orders were easy to pick up from downstairs. the breakfast was pretty impressive, a whole buffet sorta layout. the only issue we had was I booked online through booking.com and it was a 'no pay for anything until check in' including the 'hold fee' they talk about on their site, I called booking to assure me of this and they relayed that no charges at all were due until the day of check in when we got there.
