Hyatt Place Atlanta/Downtown

Attended a conference and needed a last night "add-on" as the primary hotel was SOLD out. I have chosen Hyatt Place many times before due to their cleanliness, standard room layout, nicely updated features, pleasant staff. This hotel was dingy, filthy, uninviting - ridiculous, given the $200+ rate (convention time). The windows allowed drafty air - hotel staff moved me to another room which was a bit less drafty. All rooms at the side of the bar will be exposed to loud music, way beyond midnight. It was kind of the night staff member to offer me earplugs and/ or a glass of wine. Definitely would NOT stay here again. Check-in staff was friendly, check-out staff member was unfriendly and rude. I definitely would not stay again.

This hotel has mixed reviews so I was a little nervous to stay but moved forward b/c of it's convenient location to the Fox Theater (I was in town to officiate my nephew's wedding), price & brand (I'm a long time Hyatt Rewards member). This Hyatt Place did not disappoint! As a downtown Atlanta hotel with limited space, they make the most of the common areas which were clean & inviting. The staff were friendly, welcoming & responsive to my questions & needs. Paid parking was behind a locked gate and I felt the security was well worth the fee. Our room was surprisingly spacious, very clean (nothing turned up when I wiped down surfaces) & even included a bonus microwave! We just stayed in this hotel for a couple nights this week while attending the AmericasMart. It is just a few blocks down from Peachtree center, but at night I would have been uncomfortable walking down there alone had I not had a business associate with me. The hotel is dated, although the room seemed clean. The staff was awkward at best. The last night (yesterday) we inquired at the front desk about the advertised dining - just to get a light bite. The front desk said they didn't know if the cook was there but would try and find out (it was 6:15 pm). My business partner went to our room for minute, I sat in the lobby to wait re dining, about 10 minutes go by, the front desk woman had walked away and all of sudden another women appeared behind the counter and yelled over 'what do

Positive: Price, Location, and Breakfast. Negative: I got the first room from the entrance. The ice machine noise was a nightmare. Could not sleep. The lady changed the room next day. The new room was very quiet could not sleep deeply for some reason. More than one night stay should have a quiet room.

I can’t say enough about how great this hotel and conference center were. My room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff were always helpful, friendly and professional. All my needs were met. The location was fantastic. The price was in line with what one would expect from a higher end hotel like a Hyatt.
