Hyatt Place Amarillo - West

Great stay here. The rooms are very clean, housekeeping stayover service was done without having to ask. Staff is friendly and accommodating. We checked in very late and the night auditor was very courteous. Breakfast was good, our kids like the waffles.

Nice hotel - everything seems new and fresh. Staff is friendly and the location is fine - just off Interstate 40 on Amarillo’s far west side. ||||Among the more memorable aspects of our stay was the high percentage of guests traveling with dogs. Don’t get me wrong - I like dogs. But I prefer to stay at hotels where dogs are not allowed. ||||This location was still clean and fresh despite the dogs, but I wonder how long it will remain so clean and fresh. ||||If you’re traveling with your favorite K-9 American, this Hyatt is the place for you!

Quiet, comfortable, clean, friendly staff, great breakfast options that aren't carb or prepackaged. Clean and comfortable: entire establishment, even the breakfast area. There is a charge for breakfast if you're not a Hyatt explorist/discovorist/globalist, but the payoff for that is the breakfast they offer. Hot foods are hot, cold are cold, fresh, plentiful, and plenty of healthy options for it not being a restaurant.

Hotel upkeep was not as expected. We were there in July 2024 and had a better experience. Expected Hyatt to be more consistent. Staff was very nice and breakfast was good. Housekeeping was pleasant, too. However room condition was not as expected. Towel hook and towel ring hanging out of the wall, walls were very visibly marked up, ceiling had water damage and stains over the bed area and the halls from elevators to rooms were very dirty. They only needed to be vacuumed but never were during our stay (we were there Thursday thru Saturday so was time in 3 days to run the vacuum, IMO. Just not what we expected from Hyatt.

The front desk was friendly but tried to charge us for breakfast even though I booked the option for the room with breakfast. After I showed them on the app they changed it but we never woke up early enough to get down to breakfast on time anyways. SMH Anyways the cleaning staff was always busy and kind in the hallways. Gym was well equipped and a nice indoor pool. Liked that it was back behind the other hotels on the main road which offered a sene of safety and quietness.
