Howard Johnson by Wyndham Williamsburg

This was definitely a fairly dated and not super well maintained hotel. Lots of things were dirty and cracked, and the front desk staff were all dressed in dirty casual wear, though they were perfectly polite. The breakfast buffet was a literal joke, with straight up only 2 types of cereal, no milk, and the entire rest of the “cafe” was totally empty, despite clearly having all the necessary kitchen equipment to serve the promised breakfast buffet. The big pool was closed for the season and even though we paid extra for the jacuzzi room, the faucet of our jacuzzi was totally broken and by the 3rd day, we couldn’t even turn the handle for hot water and therefore barely got to use it. The bed was big, but had the thinnest covers, and the room had a desk, TV, and mini fridge. I dunno, you get

Let me just say that after reading the reviews, we knew it would be bad, but had no idea HOW bad it was going to be. We had no choice, as everything was booked, and we had a last-minute change that caused us to grab the rooms here. This was in October, over a 3-day weekend. Big, BIG, mistake. Next time, we will sleep in our car. ||Where to start....well, here you go. Outlets that were broken, wet carpets, filthy bedding, doors that look ike they belong in the city subway, and roaches. Yes, roaches. So, we slept with the bathroom light on, hoping the roaches would not come out again. ||Our top duvet has seen better days. Dirty and gross. The smell in the room was incredibly foul and strong. ||The broken faucet in the bathroom was a pain to use. Let's not mention that the bathroom counter

Positive: "" Negative: old building, 3rd floor recently painted and carpeted. Furniture in room was rundown, missing a drawer on desk. Looks like someone removed the light bulbs on the room entryway. only one handicap parking space!

We got a king room with a hot tub suite and it was amazing. It was clean and everything worked great. The bathroom did not have a fan so I would suggest bringing some poopery lol. It was quiet and very accommodating. We got a first floor room which was wonderful. I first wanted a higher level but after we got the option of the first floor and I wouldn’t have wanted anything else. We could walk to breakfast an it was very tasty. I love how you can make your own waffles in the waffle maker, so wonderful. They also use the good waffle iron spray butter that I use for my home waffle maker which is the Carbon Golden Waffles spray (the best!). The hot tub was wonderful, it gets HOT lol so it’s good to mix it with the cold haha we had to wait for it to cool off before we got in so we didn’t coo

If you want to be overwhelmed with thick, thick cigarette smoke in every inch of your hotel, then this is the place for you. While the rooms appeared clean, the non-smoking floor smelled just as bad as a smoking parlour. The whirlpool tub was fun but we did have to wait for the better part of an hour for it to fill up. The water was nice and hot, and the beds were about a “B” grade. So if you are a smoker, by all means this is a great hotel for you. If you are a non-smoker don’t be fooled: your room (and the whole hotel) will stink badly of cigarettes.
