Howard Johnson by Wyndham San Diego Sea World

I recently stayed at the Howard Johnson by Wyndham San Diego Sea World. During my stay a small amount of vitamin water accidentally spilled on the white cotton coverlet on the bed. I was surprised that the hotel kept my entire $100 deposit for this, even though it appears to be a standard washable coverlet. I spoke with the manager and offered to cover a reasonable cleaning cost, but was told the full deposit would be kept. I understand accidents happen and hotels may need to clean items, but keeping the entire deposit for something that seems easily washable didn’t feel fair. I hope management will reconsider situations like this in the future. I am waiting to hear back since i did escalate the issue and if they can come to a fair agreement will update my review.

Do not stay here. Beware of this hotels deposit tactics. They put a $10. "hold" on your card, then while you are staying there you find unauthorized charges of various amounts on your card. This has happened to us more than once and the money was eventually returned to us. Upon asking what these bogus charges are for, no one seems to have any answer...just some bs about booking through a third party, blah, blah, blah. The last time we stayed there we had 2 separate charges, one for 49.99, the other for 66.79 charged to our card. As well as the 10. "hold". I told the front desk, they said it was an error, it would be back in my account and several days later the entire amount of 126.78 was charged to our card! I called the manager who said she was refunding it back to us, but it took days a

Great place to stay when working in San Diego, or on vacation. Close to beaches, shopping, restaurants, the Convention Center, SeaWorld, and freeways. Clean and comfortable rooms with good beds and bedding, mini fridge, microwave, work desk, and big flat screen tv with plenty of channels. Excellent customer care and service by all associates including Jean, Luis, Lucia. Great housekeeping staff. Good breakfast with waffles, cereals, coffee and juices. Great stay, thanks!

It was one of the best experiences we have had in San Diego. Great work by Mireille Laygo and the team. The rooms very super clean, and we were even accommodated for an early checkin and the manager was super courteous. The breakfast was delicious, and the service was super prompt. Would recommend this place for business or vacation, and would stay with these guys for trips to San Diego ! The location is great and safe, very close to all the main attractions. Truly value for the money !

Would never come here ever again. The front officeGirl was not helpful and seemed really cold and rude. The rooms were nasty - tub was yellow - tye door wouldn’t even lock and was hard as hell toOpen and shut and the tv kept cutting out.
