Howard Johnson by Wyndham Orlando Lake Buena Vista South

The good. Location, it’s right near a major highway, restaurants and arena. The water pressure in the shower is excellent. The front desk staff is friendly. The bad. The rooms smell like mold, the ceiling fan is broke and rusty, the bathroom sink is broken, the floor has huge gouges in it, the corners in the room are dirty, the bath tub is broken, the lamp is dirty and burnt, the toilets in the public areas were clogged up and overflowing, the vending machine were out of order. I left their other hotel located 20 minutes away because I had a young child with me and there was drunk homeless people hanging out in the parking lot. They refused to give me a rebate so I ended up paying for two hotels that I wish I never went to. I’m shocked that Wyndham would put their name on either of them.

Positive: Clean, quiet, friendly! Lots of amenities close by. Air condition worked great. Negative: Everything was perfect. I don't usually leave reviews, but this was too perfect not too.

The pictures of the hotel's exterior were a bit offsetting. The outside looks very...sketchy. The room was phenomenal. Extremely clean. There was no Cable TV. Just antenna channels. In this day and age...SMH. Breakfast was the usual minimum. Lastly, the helicopters tour right next door.

Overall the stay was fine. Pros: Good location. Nice breakfast. Clean room and room service every alternate days. Cons: Additional mandatory resort fee at checkin which does not make sense. Pool is there but locked and not accessible. They ask to use the pool in another nearby hotel Baymont by Wayndham. Pool was one reason I booked this hotel and I was disappointed.

I stayed here from Dec 21 to Dec 26. While the location was fine, the post-checkout experience has been a nightmare regarding billing and my security deposit. 1. Security Deposit Not Refunded: It has been weeks since I checked out, and my $100 security deposit has not been released. We left the room in perfect condition with absolutely no damage. 2. Unauthorized Overcharges: At booking and check-in, I was clearly told the service fee was $14.70/day (Totaling $73.50 for my 5-night stay). However, my credit card was charged a total of $113.40. The charges were: • 12/21: $44.10 • 12/25: $29.40 • 12/26: $40.00 (Unexpected extra charge) This resulted in an overcharge of roughly $40 above the agreed contract price, with no explanation given. 3.
