Hotel Walterboro Southwest

Dirty and outdated. The bed was not comfortable at all! My dorm bed was more comfortable. There were nasty stains all over the room. The wifi did not work if you had a room on the left side of the hotel. They say check out is at 11am, but there's a sign on the door that says 10 am (false advertising). The older lady at the desk is very nice, but they must not have many workers because they had up a "back in 30 min" sign on the door. There was no information on the area nor was there a no disturbance sign. There weren't any bed bugs, but I was trying to find a new hotel because I feared the lack of cleanliness would produce bed bugs. i attached pictures from my stay this week.

The room was clean and the price was great, but when the lights were out, the roaches came out. The smoke alarm was disconnected. My room was supposed to be handicapped accessible, but the bath room and tub had no grab bars, and an extremely slippery tub and floor. I almost fell in the tub. The faucet in the sink was hard to turn off. It dripped hot water all night. The drapes would not close completely, letting the outside light shine into the room all night. There was no refrigerator in the room until I asked for one. They brought a very old, rusty one. The tv was an old analog one with a remote that did not work. The light by the bed was broken off and hanging only by its electric cord.

I have stood by this hotel for years and even though it's not great it's still a good deal. This last stay was better than usual. I don't know if they are reading these reviews or what but my room was much cleaner. No cob webs, no dead bugs, paint looked to be touched up and there was new plastic corner guards. I still say if all you want is a place to stop for a night on the road try the Palms Inn.

The room was clean and warm, but there were a few problems. The refrigerator didn't work, there was only one small package of creamer for a full pot of coffee, and the front desk is closed between midnight and noon, which means there is no continental breakfast (as advertised), no way to get additional towels if necessary and no way to report any problems you may be having (such as a refrigerator that doesn't work). Over all though, if all you need is a clean bed and a roof over your head for one night, it's not a bad place to stay and worth the money (even though I was charged 15% more than the advertised price).

Every negative review is true. Checked in and the first room I was given had people in it. The second, had lost of roaches. When I asked to leave and for a refund, the clerk said, "No Refunds". The third room, very disgusting. Sticky carpet, no towels, bugs, and bug bites all over my arms. I ate my meals in my truck. This place is disgusting. Do yourself a favor, and keep driving!
