Holiday Inn Express & Suites Walterboro I-95 by IHG

My family and I stopped by during a late night/ early morning road trip back to Florida. The check in process was very smooth, and the front desk clerk was very friendly. The room was to be expected, cozy, mostly clean except for a few areas in the bathroom, and the water was HOT! The included breakfast was surprisingly very well done. They had a good selection of hot food (pancakes, bacon, turkey sausage, eggs), along with an assortment of pastries, and a good variety of beverages, (coffee, hot chocolate, juices, etc). The hotel association SANDY was great! She was friendly, and was very helpful by assisting my family during breakfast. We stay at this hotel every time we make the drive to/from NC - Florida. We have been staying there for years. It is consistently awesome. Its not fancy but it is clean, the breakfast is worth staying for and it is easy to get on and off the highway.

My family and I drove an extra 25 miles to stay at this location based on the reviews. The hotel was clean, smelled fresh and the beds were literally the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. The only issue we had was the AC unit did not work. We didn't discover this until we were unpacked and in bed. The front desk attendant was very helpful and offered to move us to another room; however, my family was asleep, so we decided to stick it out. The next morning, we had a lovely breakfast prepared by the sweetest lady named Stacey and her mother Mary. The value for the money was very poor. I expected more from the Holiday Inn Express. Room was so tight that the luggage cart barely fit between the bed and the dresser leaving no room to move to unload luggage and other items from cart. Bathroom was also smaller than other Holiday Inn Express motels I've used in the past. I don't have claustrophobia but this room made me feel as though I did. Very uncomfortable and would not recommend. But the staff at registration was exceptional. I didn't get his name but he could not do enough for us to make us feel welcome which was a breath of fresh air.

Stayed for a night on a road trip down 95. We are a low maintenance family so our standards are not extreme. But felt compelled to leave a review. Every member of the staff we interacted with was pleasant, sweet, and helpful. The common area was immaculate. All amenities worked and were clean. The breakfast was good and the staff was involved. As in they didn't just put food out and you don't see them again till they close breakfast like at other places. While breakfast was busy, I never saw a full trashcan they kept on top of everything. The staff took pride in their establishment and it showed. Almost like the environment made everyone else nicer. Almost felt like staying at a bed and breakfast. To me a hotel is just a hotel.
