Hotel Solaya - JDV by Hyatt

This hotel was great and I can tell it will be beautiful but… it was unfinished and under construction while we were staying there and we did not know this when we booked it. Still a really great hotel but we were a little disappointed with how loud it was with the construction. No ones fault and we would definitely come back when it is finished but just wish we would have known when booking. We were also went to the hot tub in the evening and when we got out the area was also under construction and we were walking back to our room and the cabanas were being built I think and there was just the framework. It was really dark and there was a beam across the bottom but we didn’t see it because of how dark it was and there was no caution sign so we both fell over the beam. My boyfriend fell on

Positive: Nothing when we arrived there were no amenities, the TV didn't work, there was no hotel staff on after 6:00 p.m. . It was a nightmare! We have had this trip booked for several weeks. Now that’s it’s the week of our trip (which is for a photoshoot for my viral brand + a golf tournament), they canceled our stay as we booked with Hyatt points. They suddenly decided to not take Hyatt points? Never heard of that before? So now there’s zero availability anywhere and they left us high and dry… shocked a Hyatt would do something like this…

Positive: Beds were comfy. Swimming in the pool. Hotel employee checked us in. He was kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. Negative: The pool was very cloudy after the pool party on Saturday. My daughter and granddaughter wanted to go swimming Sunday morning before we checked out.

Positive: The one member staff was really helpful and nice Negative: We were put in an animal room, we had no animal and suffered from allergies, bathroom door was really hard to close and did not have a knob. One of us was injured, trying to close it. Restaurant and bar was closed.. no table in the room, parking fee
