Hotel Scherman

This is a very cute hotel run by extremely friendly and helpful people. We booked the two-bed, two-bath balcony suite and it suited our purposes perfectly, giving our family room to spread out a bit. Everything was clean; the sheets were soft. The balcony was a very nice bonus though the weather was too cold for us to be able to take advantage of it. Still, on any other day it would be a great place to sit out and enjoy the "rear window" style view of the neighborhood. Speaking of neighborhoods, the location is obviously very central and right smack in the middle of Restaurant Row. Not that you would know it, noise-wise, from our room on the fourth floor which was very quiet. This hotel is an unexpected little retreat in the middle of a bustling neighborhood. We recommend it.

I absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were perfect, friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The room (306) was just amazing. Had such a lovely feel to it, and the staff had done a great job to make us welcome, with a hand written note and nice ambient music playing. I would happily have spent all day in there. The only tiny criticisms I could point to are the lengthy delay before hot water appeared out the shower, and the breakfast could be a bit more inspiring. But we wanted to have breakfast out anyway so we were not bothered. I will absolutely be back here the next time I'm in New York.

Most of our stays in New York up until now have been with Marriott Bonvoy brand hotels.||The Scherman Hotel has a great location on “Restaurant Row” (46th Street between 8th and 9th) and about ten minutes walking from Times Square and the Theater District.||The Scherman Hotel is a small boutique hotel with two buildings. It has 26 rooms. The room rate is reasonable by New York standards.||The check-in procedure was smooth and the staff were nice.||Our room was large, comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable.||Breakfast is included in the room rate and is in another adjoining building called Bar and Dough. It was a continental breakfast buffet.
