Hotel Point Loma

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. It's very near the airport, & my old neighborhood (Point Loma), so I stayed here for two unrelated visits, & recommend it! The cons: it's near a busy street in a somewhat high-traffic area. People lazing around, smoking cigs, etc. lots of car noise. BUT - it's San Diego, not New York. 72 degrees year round, sunny & blue out. Beautiful, secluded beach - The Pearl - is less than two miles away, laundry mat a couple blocks, Miguel's great Mexican restaurant - all walking distance. If for some reason, you are in San Diego on a lock-down budget, it has a little kitchenette and is one block from the area super-market, Ralph's. When I checked in, we were charged a $25 / night fee. When I asked what that covered, I was told, "It is so cover the cost of free parking, free wi-fi and to have the lobby staffed all day and night"||Room 108 was the room we were given.||1. Mold in the kitchen||2. "Privacy" curtain torn in 1/2||3. Room was down an alley in the backside of the hotel||4. Door between rooms had no door handle (leaving hole in door) so there was a || dresser butted up against it with ||5. TP shoved in the hole so you couldn't see into the other room.||6. We were able to get a refund (so we actually didn't even stay in the room longer || than the 5 minutes it took to take pictures), but had to book somewhere else || safe and clean for double the money.||||I wonder where the good reviews ar

This was the absolute best low frills hotel I have ever stayed in! Very clean! Manager was incredibly nice and helpful. Will definitely stay again next time we are in San Diego

I missed my check in time for my reservation yesterday, but when I came in today Sam at the front desk was an absolute angel! When I gave him my last name he asked if I had booked a room for the previous night as well. I told him I had, but my flight was delayed. He told me he stayed until 2:30am waiting for me to check in! I felt horrible. He got me an early check in & my dog and I are relaxing in our room in peace :)
