Hotel Mar Vista

The rooms were fine that downsides are a couple things 1) the beds in our room were uncomfortable, the mattress mush be smaller than the bed frame because the metal of the frame was sticking out and my 1 year old kept getting hurt by it.. which was unfortunate. 2) The pool/ hot tub was not in service and that’s one reason why we booked at that hotel 3) it advertised breakfast but was only bagels and muffins shock was also unfortunate cause that’s also another reason why I booked this room for my 1 year old. The stay was ok but the metal from the beds it’s a safety precaution that should take place considering babies stay in that room. (As pictured)

Booked two view king rooms (ocean view) on Booking.com. Got there and the front desk was not going to give us view rooms. Showed her my printed reservation and finally we received the view rooms. At check-out I asked for a receipt and got one for each room. Next day we looked on our VISA statement and it showed THREE ROOMS; all at the same price plus the deposit. I sent them a message on Booking.com and the next day two deposits were refunded. BUT, they never took off the third room plus deposit that they charged me in error. I'll notify Booking.com if not off in two more days. The desk clerk at check-in was not happy with me because I demanded what I was due - two view rooms.

This hotel has a lot of false advertising. They've been on a 4 month pool remodel and still advertised a pool and hot tub. Even though not available.They advertised ocean view rooms. But have a massive amount of bushes blocking the ocean. The t.v. is turned down so quiet it literally can not be heard even on Max volume. However they are very clean. And rooms are quite roomy. Bed is comfortable. Breakfast is crap by cheap hotel standards.

I was very disappointed. My adult son was very sick. I wanted to get him out of town for a few days to spend time with him. The only reason I took him to Hotel Mar Vista was because the ad said there was a pool and a hot tub and I wanted my son to be able to relax. He needs both hips replaced and has stage 4 cancer. We went down to the pool and hot tub. The pools water was freezing and so was the hot tub. It was so cold that you couldn't even get in. Other people were complaining also. We went to the front desk. The girl there was no help at all. She commented that sometimes it worked and sometimes it wasn't working. I was so upset. It wasn't fair to my son. They should have offered some kind of refund. That's false advertising. I will never go there again and I've advised friends of mine
