Hotel Breakwater South Beach

The service from the staff was just excellent! You can’t ask for a better location. They stored our luggage when we arrived early after our cruise, did the free bike rental for 1 hr, used their free beach chairs and towels. There are some discounts at certain places by staying here, too. We went to gelato place twice!! Best gelato AND best value! (Went to another place and it wasn’t even comparable!)|Sure the building is older and it may not be convenient to get to our room, but the room was huge with balconies! We had an excellent time there. Katherine from the front desk and William from the luggage check made our stay. We will definitely return!

I havechecked into a hotel room that was dirty, smelled bad, and had a cockroach, indicating it hadn’t been used or cleaned for some time. I have reported these issues to the front desk, but were told the hotel was fully booked and lacked housekeeping staff. After multiple requests, I was given a new room the next day, but this room also had problems—poor internet signal made it difficult to work during your official trip. Despite reporting the issue several times and being promised a fix, nothing was done. Much of my trip was spent trying to resolve these problems at the front desk, preventing you from relaxing and working comfortably. I am now seeking a refund and have added all details to your booking notes.

We came from Ohio: Our first impression of this hotel was pretty good. When we got out of the Uber, the hostess said welcome to Miami! Every staff member was very polite and helpful. I have attached pictures of the room, bathroom, and other amenities. The balcony we had was more amazing than anywhere we’ve ever stayed! Every time we need help with something, every staff member was very accommodating. I will have to say: do not believe all the other reviews when they tell you the pool is heated. It is absolutely not heated! We were there the first week of February and the Pool was colder than the ocean water. They do NOT have a hot tub. We were there during a cold spell and it was difficult to find things to do because it was so chilly out. *This was a make or break deal for us. Cold pool

The location itself is great. The hotel however is incredibly outdated. We stayed twice over our vacation first in an ocean view room. The shower water never got above like warm at BEST. The coffee maker was broken and the phone in the room literally had a cut line so it was nonfunctional. The view was largely obstructed but the corner window was beautiful. The second room the tv didn’t work and the bathroom door didn’t stay closed it kept sliding open- and you can guess the water was also lukewarm at best. They also use an outdated key card system that required reactivation if your keycard even sees another electronic device and they set the keycards to stop working an hour or two before check out for some reason??? If checkout is at 11 the key should work until 11.. right? Staff was s
