Customer Reviews
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Alameda! It was convenient based on where I had to go to. Ozge at the front desk was so helpful and welcoming — when I arrived early, she helped me feel settled and took in my luggage; guided me on restaurant recommendations; helped me extend my reservation; and was overall super helpful and kind! The breakfast was very nice. The only downside is the shower temperature was lukewarm and it leaked a little into my room, but otherwise, for the price, I think it was a good deal.
Hotel Alameda completely failed to honor our confirmed reservation and disrupted what was supposed to be a special Valentines weekend trip. We booked this hotel specifically for its location in Chelsea, within walking distance of our venue and activities. On the day of arrival, we were informed that the hotel had overbooked and could no longer accommodate us. Instead, we were involuntarily relocated to a Holiday Inn in Times Square—an entirely different area that forced us to change our plans and significantly increased travel time and inconvenience. In addition, the room we received at Holiday Inn came with two double beds, not the King bed that we had booked at Alameda. What makes this worse is that this was not a last-minute emergency—it was the result of overbooking, which is a delib
My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Alameda to enjoy a fun weekend in New York City. We were very disappointed. From the start, the entire experience was poor. The street where the hotel is located in Chelsea is run down, deserted, dark, and unwelcoming, especially at night. The receptionist was friendly but spouted off a series of times for coffee service, bar service, rooftop bar and restaurant times that were impossible to remember. It would have been much better if they had a handout. The hallways were painted black making it hard to see and the lighting was poor. It was depressing when you walked out of your room to the elevator. The room had a platform bed with abut a foot of wood framing all around. Be careful when getting to the bathroom in the middle of the night; y
Positive: Location. Restaurant. Staff. Comfortable mattress. Negative: Rm 69=dorm room. Next to elevator, missing blinds, extremely low light. Hotel not for people under 35. I could not see my clothes to get ready. Could not see my reflection in the mirror. Desk said no lamps available. That’s our design—moody/dark.
Great value hotel if you get a normal rate (I stayed midweek) Bathroom and shower are huge, although the regular room would be tight for people travelling with a lot of bags. But very comfy bed (it’s not that low as some reviews talk about, I went in fearing a mattress on the floor but it’s very much a bed haha) Big mirror in the room and very cool decor. Bar is incredibly expensive for drinks tho compared to happy hours or anything else in the area. Location is perfect and staff all very helpful.
