When checking in they asked me for a $300 deposit which they said was hotel policy, which I never was told anything or had read anything & I had already paid everything in full. Then they said they would take out money for each night & whatever was left would be returned if the room was in good condition when we left. We were 3 seniors, believe me-no room party’s! They ended up charging me $183.60 out of the $300. They couldn’t give me a receipt. They told me that Expedia would send me the receipt. |So I called Expedia & they said these charges were NEVER mentioned to them as well & they reimbursed me. I was very thankful for that. That should be a warning to anyone signing in there to stay. |There is $150 deposit & they return/release it when you check out. That is in their notes but noth
It was a decent stay at Hotel 57. Natural advantage given location of the hotel, with tons of food options nearby, and walking distance to most of my meetings in midtown Manhattan. I find the design of the room sub par. For instance, the TV is above the study area, and the latter is kinda boxed up. The tap lever in the toilet needs to be pushed in to on the water supply, which is unintuitive. There isn’t a natural spot to open up the luggage for packing. Overall, the pros do outweigh the cons for the most part.
Loveddddd my stay here for my birthday. The room was clean and the shower water was hot!! Excellent staff and very accommodating. I requested a higher floor but it wasn’t available and the roof top was closed due to construction. That’s not a problem, just means I need to come back in the spring! Location was perfect for everything on my list. Loved my stay. Officially my NY hotel. Thank you Hotel 57!
I highly recommend Hotel57. I stayed there with my wife and daughter this past Sunday and Monday. My wife had multiple appointments scheduled at the hospital for special surgery, so we decided to make a trip out of it. Hotel57 was a great choice. I appreciate the extra safety that was provided with the key cards needed to use the elevators. We were given a great room on 16th floor. We also went to see a Broadway show and got a true Manhatten experience. The room was quite, clean and spacious. We were very impressed by how nice the staff was and you cant beat the price.
The location of Hotel 57 is excellent and one of its biggest advantages. It is very well situated and makes exploring Manhattan easy and convenient. The hotel lobby is stylish, and the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which we truly appreciated. Unfortunately, this positive impression does not continue in the rooms. The rooms are old but generally clean; however, there are clear signs of heavy wear and tear. The carpet, in particular, felt outdated and hygienically questionable. The bed was extremely narrow, and the mattress was completely worn out – you could clearly feel the metal springs, which made sleeping uncomfortable. The rooms are also very noisy. You can hear everything from the hallway as well as from neighboring rooms, and light from the hallway was s
