Took a chance on this boutique hotel based on the reviews — won't be back. The room was smaller than expected (I get it, it's NYC but photos are a bit deceiving), my view request was ignored, the phone and heat weren't working at check-in, and I had to visit the front desk twice for key issues. The shower had heavy hard water staining and only one of the shower heads worked. The most concerning as a solo female traveler? No peepholes in the rooms (wouldn't stay here again just based off that). No matter how nice of a neighborhood, I always need a peephole in the hotel room. The manager on duty was kind and waived a fee, which I appreciated. But I was promised an email receipt that never came. I followed up with General Manager Michael and Guest Relations Manager Johanna and was ignored by
This hotel was super warm and welcoming. The guy named Elin that worked in the front desk was a super nice guy. My friend and I shared cheesecake with him, and we talked to him whenever we went downstairs. We were in a big group, so half of us were in the north hotel and the other half were in the south one. I forgot which one I was in, but one of the hotels had a big lobby and it was a nice place to relax for a little bit in between going out. We took a taxi from JFK to the hotel, and it wasn’t that bad. There wasn’t a lot of traffic on the street the hotel is on, so it was fine. Our room was great and looked clean. We were able to get fresh towels and sheets as needed. It was a pretty small room, but it was what’s expected for a New York hotel. The rooms were pretty far from each other,
I cannot understand how anyone can be expected to sleep comfortably when the radiator is on at all times, day and night, and you're completely unable to do anything about it. I'm here in winter, and the only way I can keep the room at a somewhat normal temperature is by keeping the window open (which can only crack open a few inches). It seems they are determined to keep guests hot, as people staying in the summer seem to be complaining about the AC not working properly. The balcony door does not open, so it's completely pointless. The Wifi has not worked a single day since I've been here; it seems this is a common complaint, but the hotel apparently has done nothing to address it. $50/night motels have better wifi and temperature control than this place in the middle of Manhattan! Location is great, just 1 block away from the 32nd St station on the green no. 6 metro line and 3 blocks east of Koreatown in Manhattan. Room is relatively spacious for a 3-star hotel, but our single-queen bed was actually a full-size bed and there was no room left to correct the wrong bed type for the 3 night stay. It was up to mid-80 deg F daily, and the air conditioning did not work well during the day, even when the A/C unit temp control dial was set at "Maximum cool" (it was quite noisy as well). The complimentary bottled water was a good perk. The fixed shower glass divider (with any door) was too narrow, and the bathroom floor got wet after a shower.
Hotel 3232 is much more than just a place to stay in New York; it is a masterclass in hospitality that feels more like a well-appointed apartment than a standard hotel. We ended up here during a medical crisismy friend suffered a head injury and was advised not to fly, forcing us to extend our stay in the city unexpectedly. In a moment of extreme stress, the staff at Hotel 3232 became our greatest asset. They provided the kind of 'Human Architecture' that you usually only find in elite, full-service luxury hotels. From the seamless handling of our luggage during an early check-in to their flexibility with our room extension, they removed every logistical hurdle so I could focus on my friend's recovery. The rooms themselves offer a sense of home and stability that is rare in Manhattan. Whil
