We booked our accommodation months ago wanting to ensure that everything was well organised before leaving New Zealand, we booked with Best Western as we knew the brand & thought we could rely upon it. We woke up to an email a few weeks ago stating that the hotel needed major renovations and would now be closed at the time of our booking. We were offered the choice of cancelling our booking, changing our travel dates or asking for help to find an alternative. We asked for help to find an alternative luckily at the same time we decided to look ourselves and found accommodation (cheaper and better look at hotel Marriott if you want options and a brand you can actually rely upon). We this morning have received an email from Best Western to say that the hotel is not a Best Western anymore

The location is perfect and close to most of the main attractions and subway. Rooms are spacious but there are issues with stove burners and clogged bathtub. Main issue I see is with the staff. They are sometimes not polite in talking with a customer.

I booked a stay at this hotel several months ago, planning a trip to New York well in advance – with a group of 6 people. Less than a month before our arrival, we received a message saying that the hotel would be closed due to renovations and would not be able to accommodate us. They suggested changing the dates of our stay, which is simply not possible – our flight tickets have been booked for a long time and the entire trip was carefully planned in advance. We sent a message asking how the hotel could help us in this situation, but we never received any response. We were just left without any support. Organizing a trip for 6 people is already a logistical challenge, and now – at the last minute – we have to look for a new hotel in New York, which of course comes with additional costs and

The front desk was so helpful and friendly. She helped us navigate our way to Grand Central station and made recommendations for food and sights. The room was clean and spacious enough for our family. The fridge and microwave were a bonus. The in room coffee was convenient. The restroom was clean spacious and fully stocked with necessities. The walk was not bad to Central Park, Times Square, Grand Central station and 5th Ave. we ate at local eateries and was not disappointed.

Location was great. Stayed in a penthouse the room was extremely ran down for the price. Toilet in master room doesn’t flush, reported this they plunged it, still didn’t work. Second bathroom the shower doors couldn’t be opened without nearly falling off rails. The door to balcony in our room didn’t lock. The stairwell does have access to the balcony. Just being in a city I would have loved to feel more secure in my room. They did have a sign next to the door to explain how to lock the door but this door did not lock. Also just replace the blinds on the door walking into a room with blinds looking like this was not pleasant. I spent a lot of money on a room I thought would be a great value it wasn’t. I will not be returning. Breakfast was always full so we had to bring food back to our roo
