Horton Grand Hotel

Horton Grandis a beautiful, romantic, dreamy historical hotel in the Gas Lamp Quarter. Victor Ivy @ the Concierge/Security desk is awesome! The Valets and front desk staff are wonderful. From the moment I arrived I was given white glove "hypercare VP" experience. The location is central to waterfront and most major tourist sites. Everything you need is an short walk. Going forward I will stay exclusively at the Horton Grand. Join me in making wonderful memories @ HG Hotel!

Positive: Close to lots of restaurants. Negative: The bath tub in my first room was gross, and it was obvious to me that at some point the handle to the faucet might break. It did on my last night and I couldn't get it to stop pouring out a trickle of water, so they moved me to another room.

Really cool hotel, with lots of history. Rooms have patios and fireplaces and a decent view from almost any room. I was lucky enough to have a private balcony some were right next to eachother. Staff is super nice and helpful and bar/restaurant connected to it is also very nice. There are snacks and a microwave and a small gym. If I had to complain it would be the smell, reminds me of something very old almost musty and the rooms are a little small. But you can't beat the location, walking distance to everything in Gaslight district. Would stay there again.

I had a wonderful 2-night stay at the Horton Grand Hotel. I arrived late on Monday, and the receptionist was incredibly sweet and helpful during check-in, which made a long day of travel so much better. She even recommended a fantastic taco spot nearby that ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. You really can’t beat the location either, right in the heart of the Gaslamp area and close to everything. I’d definitely stay here again!

We had the joy of being "stuck" in San Diego for 2 additional night and found ourselves staying here. The hotel is beautiful! All the staff was so friendly. We checked in a little after 10am, hoping they could just hold our bags, but they found an open room for us. At the end of our stay, they held our bags for basically the entire day, without any fuss. The location is perfect, safe and very walkable. Salt and Whiskey bar attached made some delicious cocktails and mocktails. We hope to be back the next time we're in San Diego.
