Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Airport-Liberty Station

Con - Let's just get it out of the way, the airplane noise is LOUD. The airport is right across the water. But inside the hotel, with windows closed, the volume is reasonable. If you can get past the planes, this hotel is GREAT (Maybe the planes are even a perk. Back in my son's toddler days, he would have LOVED watching the planes take off from the airport and fly overhead all day) Pros - The room was well laid out, comfortable, attractive but easy to clean surfaces, well stocked kitchen. Very quiet during the night; even the planes seem to take a break. Excellent breakfast each morning. We never felt the need to eat breakfast at a restaurant during our entire stay because the hotel breakfast was so good. A real time/money saver. Nice hotel, we stayed in a suite. It had 2 bedrooms divided by a living room and kitchen space with a bathroom in each room. The room was quiet, clean and roomy. The staff was very helpful. The complimentary breakfast was very nice. The staff preparing the breakfast did a great job. Would come again. We used a shuttle to and from the airport. Both drivers were kind and very helpful.

Positive: Location, room size, breakfast bar, most of the staff. Negative: Late check out only 30 minutes when my conference was ending late. Our view was of a wall. And that's fine, but not mentioned.

Food for breakfast and social hour was exceptional. Rooms are nicely updated. I was shocked to find the baseball court open to neighborhood kids allowing them to make unbelievable amount of noise from 1 to 5 pm while a paying customer cant open the window or enjoy the balcony. I lasted 2 days and had to me moved to the parking lot rooms for some peace and quiet.

This Homewood was the best hotel I stayed at in my week long trip at a different hotel every day. The beds and pillows were super comfy and the rooms were nice and updated. I did find a few stray hairs but that may be because I was in such a large 3 room suite...
