Homewood Suites by Hilton College Station

We stayed here about 5 years and loved it! But this weekend has been a bit of a disappointment. The property needs to refurbished or at least deep cleaned. It’s becoming tired and worn. Upholstery is stained and frayed, Bed and furniture cushions are worn and lumpy. Curtains are falling off the rods. Towels are thin and scratchy. ||NOISY! We heard our neighbor’s entire conversation at 11:00 last night. They weren’t yelling or being loud. Just talking. Walls are paper thin! And the people above us were trying to walk a 5k. We heard every step. Very difficult to sleep. ||SMELLY! When we checked in, everything was fine. Within a few hours there was a horrible smell outside, in the lobby and hallways. Sewer? Skunk? Not sure what it was. But it was bad. Fortunately not

Positive: Coffee was good, my wife went to get more bedding for our grandkids, the staff member did not like the pillow in the set that he gave us so he brought us a better pillow. Negative: ""

Front desk great, got me a room earlier than expected. Room was clean, seemed a little run down. Breakfast was not so great, no potatoes, sausage, little bit of eggs. no wheat bread, English muffins just white bread and assorted bagels. Oat meal very watery. Not a lot of options, disappointing breakfast. Housekeepers were nice. close to everything and places to eat.

Older dated interior in the rooms. No hot water last day of our stay. Limited service support. Poor desk clerk was on her first shift ever and her trainer left about 30-45 minutes utes early and left her stranded. TV remote dis not working had to call 2 different days to get som9ne to replace it.

MOLDY HOTEL - mold-sensitive individuals beware. During our 2-night stay we tried 3 rooms. It was appalling how moldy the rooms were. Rooms smelled wet or musty, but ground floor level common areas smelled ok. Severely moldy HVAC ducts and window sills and one speckled bathroom ceiling (see pics). Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but operators/owners must take action. Painting over mold only hides the problem; mycotoxins still come through paint. Perhaps the problem is central: hotel HVAC??
