Cavalry Court, Valencia Hotel Collection

I don't often find myself overnight in College Station & I've been generally disappointed with the hotel options, but now I know about the Cavalry Court Hotel. I was optimistically skeptical before we arrived & the check-in process immediately started the shift away from skepticism & right into happy confidence that I'd made a great choice for our stay. Without exception, the staff were friendly, helpful, & informative across the board (valet, check-in, restaurant, housekeeping, & check-out). The food was pretty good - not the best I've ever had, but certainly better than most of the places nearby. The room was suprisingly comfortable, given the impression of a barracks; the bed was outstanding. Clean doesn't begin to describe our room. Spotless. The attention to detail in decorating

We ordered a Diet Coke and Dr Pepper and it was their off brand but they didn't disclose that info to us and charged us. We also waited 10 minutes after our food arrived to receive silverware and napkins. We ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks and it was over $75 with a built in 20% tip when I wouldn't have paid that because of the service. We continued to have to ask for things and ask several times for our ticket. I ate there the next morning and no one waited on me for breakfast, several customers asked for plates for the buffet and we waited awhile for that to be available. I also had to find someone to give me a bill for they never came to my table.

The rooms were a little dark although they were nice. The service at the restaurants was less than stellar. Our waitress was pleasant she just wasn't around when you needed her. I placed a drink order when she brought our meal and I was done eating before I even was asked if I wanted another drink which I had already ordered. The location was good based on what we were in town for.

What a wonderful weekend. Close to everything. From valet to check in to breakfast and dinner, staff was just went beyond their “duties.” Pleasant and courteous staff. Room was clean. Shower was hot and spacious. Linens were soft to sleep on. A great value given the convenience to what our goal and expectations were. Would definitely recommend the Valencia group and Cavalry Court to our friends and family. Thank you for your hospitality.

Positive: The location was perfect. There were plenty of food/shopping options available within walking distance. Negative: Size of the beds in the room could be bigger. The room clearly was not looked over when cleaned. We found partially consumed drinks in the fridge and crumbs on the couch.
