Holiday Inn Express Williamsburg North by IHG

I checked into this Hotel on 2/13/26 and checked out early morning on 2/15/26. A few hours after checking out, I received an email and a text message from Dreshawn Lewis, General Manager stating "we did not have a credit card on file for your stay, and you have a balance of $292.96". I called the hotel, spoke with Mr. Lewis and gave him a card number to clear up the balance. On 2/19, I received an email message welcoming me to a trial period with wondershare.com (AI creation website). A few minutes later, I received a "Suspicious activity/Unauthorized transaction- Declined" email, for an attempted $167.88 charge at wondershare.com for an annual subscription. The attempted theft took place at this Hotel. I ordered this particular card for travel, received it on February 1, 2026, and it was

Positive: This hotel was super clean and new! Very nice safe area of town. Conveniently located close to attractions and had a shopping center with a Walmart right across the street for essentials! The hot breakfast was free and had the best selection! Negative: ""

As a Diamond Elite member I've stayed at Holiday Inns all around the U.S as well as abroad. The bad reviews posted here are not warranted. The rooms we booked are exceptionally clean and as usual contain all the Holiday Inn Express amenities, microwave and fridge, Keurig, comfy bed, and plenty of linens. The staff has gone above and beyond to make our stay perfect with an easy check-in process, welcome amenities including a grab-and-go bag, and even a late checkout. Breakfast was wonderful with a hot bar including biscuits, gravy, eggs and sausage as well as pastries pancakes and fruit. The lobby and breakfast area were spotlessly clean just like our two rooms. Holiday inn Express never lets us down and we always know what to expect, this hotel is no different. Would I return for another v

****Extremely Unprofessional Management – Reservation Canceled Out of Retaliation*** I had an extremely upsetting and stressful experience at the Holiday Inn Express Williamsburg North, specifically due to the conduct of the manager, DreShawn Lewis. I made my reservation back in October 2025 under my daughter’s soccer team block, for a February 20–22, 2026 tournament. The reservation was made months in advance, and being with the team was essential. On February 19, 2026, just one day before I was supposed to travel, I received a call from the hotel telling me they were “over capacity” and that they would be moving me to another hotel. Technology at its worst. Card room access down for 3 whole (plus before and after we were there) days. Had to be escorted by a staff member with a special access chip. to get into the room. Therefore, coming ang going were a major pain in the butt. As a vresult we had to limit what and when we wanted to do.||The room was nice and spacious, except the bathroom was claustrophic. Difficult for seniors or those with bad joints to take a shower in the tiny tub. unusual that there were no elevators near the front desk. Had to go on a hike to go to our room.||Breakfast was nothing to write home about. I did notice the attendant replacing the scrambled eggs (either powdered or liquid bagged per taste) as scheduled - corporate policy?
