Holiday Inn Express & Suites Wyomissing by IHG

My husband and I frequently stay at this hotel when visiting the area. The location is perfect for us-no more than 15 minutes from everywhere we need to be. The hotel is clean and well taken care of and the staff are friendly and always helpful. There are two great restaurants within walking distance and others near by. My husband uses the gym and there is an indoor pool as well. The king suite is very comfortable and guests can comfortably stop by since there is a living room as well as a small kitchenette area. We will always plan to stay at this hotel when we are in the area.

The rooms are clean and comfy.The staff is great and always willing to help. Pool and jacuzzi are very relaxing. Hot breakfast in the morning , sausage gravy and biscuits are delecious. I chose this over any hotel in berks county!

I was pleasantly surprised. After reading all of the hotel reviews in this area we weren't sure what we would get. the reviews for all of the hotels were not good. Staff and other guests were very friendly. Rooms were recently renovated. Room was nice, updated and clean! Easy walk to nice neighborhood with shops and a strip of restaurants of all kinds of food and drinks, with beautiful outdoor seating areas. |I feel I do I have to mention one thing that needs improved it would be the bathroom being difficult to get in and out of due to its size and the way the door swings. I am not a big person, and it was tight squeezing between the door, sink and toilet.

Recommend staying at this location - easy to get to. Friendly staff. No issues. The only "complaint" we had that really isn't a complaint is the bathroom was small. We stayed in the standard room. When you go into the bathroom you have to basically straddle the toilet to be able to open/close the door. The toilet paper holder was mounted on the counter - which is fine - unless you have to reach across to plug something in - then it's in the way. Two people could not share the counter space. There was a convenient full length mirror out of the bathroom with a shelf to help with the issue of two people trying to get ready at the same time.

As a platinum member, I realize not all hotels are the same. However, this one needs a serious upgrade. The carpet tile that is in the room is worn out and many of them are peeling up in the corners. Putting paint and tape on the walls to keep them looking fresh is just putting lipstick on a pig. The fitness center is 80 degrees with no way to turn it down, 3 of the cardio machines had signs stating "do not use". There is no breakfast to speak of, which is a surprise since most of the other Express properties have a decent breakfast with healthy options. There was no yogurt, milk or eggs in the refrigerator that states "yogurt, milk, eggs". You are left with making pancakes, salty scrambled eggs, sausage and a myriad of sweet cereals. This is definitely a bargain basement hotel. I
