Holiday Inn Express & Suites Woodside LaGuardia Airport by IHG

Came for one night before morning flight at LGA. Easy check in. Because we had the ihg credit card they gave us a complimentary update to a suite. Room was super clean, comfy bed and quiet. Continental breakfast was very good with variety including cinnamon rolls. Good coffee available 24 hrs a day. Everything was perfect until we waited for the free shuttle to airport. It corks every 30 minutes. We needed the 7:30am shuttle and driver came at 7:49 with no apologizes and seemed slightly annoyed. We made it to airport just beware of you are running for a flight. Would stay at this hotel again for LGA.

The exterior photo rendering is very misleading as to the location. The hotel is actually located in a busy urban area surrounded by one way streets. Street parking may be available on a nearby residential street and there is a small secure underground parking lot with limited spots under the building for $40/night. Staff was friendly and check-in was easy. I was very impressed with the assortment offered at the complimentary breakfast (6:30-9:30am). Rooms were clean and the price was affordable.

I stayed here with my 2 adult daughters and we loved it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable. Our room faced the flight path so we enjoyed watching planes through the large window, which was very soundproof (so no noise to disturb our sleep). There was a lounge area with free hot drinks available for guests all day. Breakfasts were very good (even when it was crowded, we never had trouble getting food and seating). It was also a short walk to 2 different subway stations, so very convenient for visiting the city and beyond. The free airport shuttle was handy too. The pickup from LaGuardia was good (traffic was horrendous but we expected that at rush hour).

We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival at the hotel. The front desk staff were very cordial and helpful. We received the room that we were looking for upon booking and it was very clean and comfortable. The complementary breakfast was good and they had this amazing pancake maker. The staff was very helpful and how to use it. It’s also quick ride over the 59th St., Bridge to get to New York City. I would return to this hotel again and I recommend this hotel.

Very disappointing and stressful experience. We booked this hotel for one main reason: they advertised airport pickup and drop-off service, as my wife and son were traveling through New York for the first time. When they arrived at the airport and called the hotel for pickup, the hotel refused, saying they do not pick up from JFK. My wife even requested them to arrange some safe transportation, but the front desk staff was not helpful or understanding at all. They somehow managed to take the train and reach the hotel. At the reception, they raised the same concern and at least asked for airport drop-off the next day. That was also declined, and they were told to contact the manager.
