Holiday Inn Express & Suites Linden - Newark South by IHG

Everything about our one-night stay at this brand new property made for an excellent guest experience. The hotel opened at the end of May 2025 and the rooms and common areas are spacious and it is clear they were designed with functionality and comfort in mind. The overall property and rooms are clean, the front desk and breakfast staff members were friendly and welcoming, and the best touch is the 24/7 single-serve coffee station in the main lobby. Stay here, and your expectations will be exceeded!

Positive: Very clean and new. The location was perfect for good food options. Breakfast was good. And front desk staff very friendly. Room and bed were comfy. Loved that had big smart tv. And felt secured in hotel so to their policies. Negative: For my partner who is noise sensitive for sleep, noise level from the AC was a disturbance because wasn’t consistent noise, it came on and off and was quite loud. Luckily the ac was strong so we turned it on during the day and off at night.

I’m originally from the north Jersey area, and during a recent visit to New York, we decided to stay at a hotel conveniently located near the airport in Newark. However, due to an unexpected snowstorm and the Newark hotel being fully booked, we needed to find alternative lodging and ended up at the Holiday Inn Express in Linden. I am thrilled to say that this hotel exceeded my expectations! Its prime location allows for easy access to a variety of shopping and dining options, all within walking distance. Plus, with a Wawa directly across the street, we had everything we needed right at our fingertips. Bashar, in the breakfast area, was consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive. He made sure everything was well stocked and clean, and his positive energy first thing in the morning really set the tone for the day. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. Samantha and Shailah were absolutely incredible at the front desk. We experienced some scheduling conflicts, and instead of it becoming stressful, they handled everything smoothly and professionally. Dear Sir or Madam (GM): I just wanted to drop a quick line and commend you on both your staff, as well as the hotel in general. I had the pleasure of interacting with Shailah, Leonella (sp?), Nick and one young lady who originally checked me into the hotel, but who's name I can't seem to remember...and they all provided exceptional customer service. I travel frequently and it's rare to have so many employees, in one location, extend themselves like these 4 individuals did, and do it with genuine smiles on their faces. As far as the room goes, it was very comfortable and I liked the boutique-y feel and decor. Lastly, I ain't mad at the fact that yours is one of the few hotels that serves a free breakfast anymore.
