Holiday Inn Express & Suites Hermosa Beach by IHG

What a lovely stay. Staff were very accommodating, especially Carlos. The room was spotlessly clean, smelling fresh. The overall property was well kept, neat, tidy and clean. Location is also great if you are driving. Car parking space is limited at night during peak periods. Staff will always assist and accommodate where possible. We especially appreciate the Dove body wash, hair conditioner, hair shampoo and handwash provided. After a long flight, a very long wait in line at customs, then an even longer wait at Hertz car rental LAX, we were very grateful to find such a lovely room and place awaiting us. Thank you Holiday Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express Hermosa Beach.

We stay at this hotel often as it's a nice stopover when cruising out of San Pedro. This time we arrived very early (9:45 a.m.) after getting off the ship. They were kind enough to check us into an available room that was on the back side of the hotel versus the road side which is the Pacific Coast Highway. The room was lovely. Very spacious and nicely remodeled. The rooms have mini-refrigerators and microwaves which makes it nice. The rooms are also very clean and the bathrooms are nice. This one had a nice glass-door shower (not a tub). They do a really nice job on their breakfast. There are lots of choices and they have people refilling and keeping things fresh. In town for family visits, this hotel was bright, airy, clean , comfortable, quiet, and alll around perfect for our needs. The breakfasts are the usual all you can eat that you find in Holiday Inn Expresses, but better of its kind.

This is by far the NOISIEST hotel I’ve stay at. Extremely noisy along the street side, you’ll hear multiple sirens at night, and cars constantly passing by. Neighbors stumping/walking in their rooms. People walking/talking in the hallway, all very loud. Bed is is a good firmness, pillow is perfect. It is walkable to the beach tho. Service is great, breakfast is whatever but better than nothing.

This place pleasantly surprised me! I’ve stayed at higher-rated hotels before, but many of them had worse facilities and maintenance than this one. Despite being a lower-rated location (in the conventional-sense), the cleanliness and upkeep of my room, as well as the facilities, were truly impressive. That said, there are a few minute aspects that I wish were a little bit better such as: 1. the parking and 2. the wi-fi. 1. Parking: Parking was free, but there’s a 1 car per room maximum policy, which isn’t ideal for groups like mine where each person planned to arrive with our own cars. While there is free (and unmetered) street parking, the available spots become scarce as the night approaches.
