Holiday Inn Express & Suites Colby by IHG

Super QUIET. Felt like we were the only people in the whole place! Room was clean and comfortable. Hot water in the bathroom wasn’t the best, but was sufficient. Continental breakfast was the standard. Food was hot and refilled promptly by the staff. Overall a very nice stay. Would return.

This is one of the best Holiday Inn Express Suites that we had ever stayed at on 12/26/2025 to 12/27/2025. The reception staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. The staff that prepared breakfast at this Holiday Inn Colby Kansas are top notched. They made sure that nothing ran out like bananas, gravy sauce, bacon, cheese omelette, the biscuits were so darn good. They have a small fridge stocked with yogurt, butter, chocolate milk, half and half, two different kinds of cream cheese. They also had oatmeal, cereal and you could make your own pancakes if you wanted to. The plus of staying at this Holiday Inn was that a Walmart is only half a mile away easy to walk to. This was a stop over on our drive going East. The front desk was very warm and friendly, parking lot felt safe pulling in considering the dense fog we drove through. Comfortable and clean room. Our room was pretty large for our family with space for our stuff. The rooms were updated however- our shower head showed mineral buildup up, and that affected the water pressure and spray. But the bathroom itself was a large space and very clean. There was a decent size little fridge to place perishables. Microwave available for use. Decent breakfast with many options and a very friendly staff monitoring the hot bar. We actually arrived to eat right after a large wave of patrons, and the staff was replacing food quickly and kept the counter clean. Great value overall for price.

Our cat was not ready to leave your hotel! We could not find him. I talked to Shelby at the desk and told her the situation. She and Dave in Maintenance, came to our room and lifted the mattress and box springs to locate our cat. It was above and beyond the call of duty! They were so patient and kind and eager to help! It was very much appreciated. I would definitely stay here anytime we are passing through Colby!

Stayed there Oct 10-12 2025. Everything as expected. Room and service were fine. We hit the breakfast room at the rush, some people didn't have a place to sit. The Kitchen person was doing OK, but she had her cleaning towels and sprayer etc. permanently parked on one of the tables. She did this both mornings, so it's a habit. At rush, if she'd put her stuff in the kitchen instead, then that would have been one more table where people could sit. Some ended up taking their food to their rooms for lack of a place to sit. Sure, the building is not brand new, but it was well maintained, clean etc. I don't see a need to replace it, other than perhaps the company wants something bigger.
