Holiday Inn Express & Suites Carpinteria by IHG

We went to Carpinteria to relax and breath after the hectic few weeks at work. However, at the time we stayed in this hotel, there was a construction above our room. It was very loud. Workers were dropping big stuff on top of our room which sounded like an earthquake! This was not communicated to us before we booked or even few days before we went there so we could cancel and have time to look for another hotel. Anyway, the very disappointing experience was when I called the attention of front desk and I told them I booked with Expedia, the front desk guy - Donovan ( who apparently had no customer service skills) said "we were the guests of Expedia and the hotel would not accommodate us in any way" when I asked for other options. Check in quick but just that. |Room was good. Quiet, clean comfortable. Not the greatest water pressure, plenty of hot water, but the bathroom was clean. Breakfast not so great. Luke warm omelets, warm chocolate milk, no boiled eggs. Cold coffee, thank goodness for microwave in the room. One positive about breakfast was there was real bacon and it was delicious.|You will get good rest.|They are going through a remodeling but that didn’t affect our stay.|However be cautious when turning into the property at night as you will miss a piece of curbing and go four wheeling over it. Even though it is painted yellow it is not visible at night.

We had a great stay at this location. We travel with our dogs and this location has lots of grass areas to walk them around. The room and dining area were very clean. The pancake machine was not working. Having a small fridge and microwave in the room was also a plus. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room on the opposite side from the freeway. If you get a room on the freeway side it is right next to it so you hear all the cars and semis throughout the night. Staff were great. Will definitely consider this location if I am in the area again.

The hotel is clean but furniture is very old and in need of replacing. There were many dents in the old furniture, but the room was very clean. The air conditioning unit worked well and the breakfast was better than I expected. There were many options. The hotel staff were kind and helpful. The souvenirs were reasonably priced which was a plus. They offer a small snack area for purchases if you get a little hungry. We really liked the hotel overall except that the furniture needed replacing. The beds were comfortable as well.

Great quick breakfast in the morning first floor, the coffee ☕️ is really good in the morning. The butter is soft not hard like brick. The beds soft!! Will comeback soon In the near future!
