Holiday Inn Express & Suites Canyon by IHG

I stayed here for 1 night recently, while on a roadtrip and visiting Palo Duro Canyon State Park. This hotel was located a short drive from the park, was easy to find, and they are dog friendly (with a reasonable pet fee for the stay). The check in process was easy, and I found the room to be comfortable and clean. I would say the only thing I didn't like about this hotel, was the elevator, which was very small, jolted/jumped often, and ran very slow. It seems it was the only elevator in the hotel, making it a bit difficult to get all the staff with the cleaning carts and the customers where they need to go efficiently. Overall, I would stay here again, but I might ask for a room on the first floor to avoid the small/sluggish elevator!

Very convenient location to Palo duro canyon and Amarillo. Typical experience for holiday inn express. Had suite and worked perfect for family and price. Downside was beetles and other insects in showers.

Stayed for a leisure week during a hiking trip to Palo Duro Canyon State Park. From the start, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel the holiday spirit. Our room was spacious and clean, adding to a comfortable stay. The hotel’s location was convenient for our daily hikes. The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet, allowing us to stay in the moment, relax, and fully enjoy our stay. One memorable moment was when a staff member and the manager noticed us struggling to fill our cooler with ice cup by cup. Instead of letting us continue, they kindly provided a larger container, making the process much easier. Their thoughtfulness truly stood out. Overall, it was a great stay with excellent service, and we would happily return!

Imagine a scene in Game Of Thrones where oxen are pulling a wooden cart. Now make the wheels square instead of round. Now imagine it's being pulled directly above your ceiling. That's what I pictured when I was awakened hours before checkout time. Instead, it was roofers. This HIE was having a new roof installed. We got in late the night before and were sleeping pretty hard at the time. My wife was, shall we say, "less than thrilled". So at checkout, she asked for what she thought would be fair - a 50% discount on our one-night stay. (More experienced negotiators might have started out asking for more.) The manager was summoned. Her response: "I can't do that. But I can give you a 40% discount." My thought: "For a 10% difference you're going to have your customer leave unsatis

Only detractor for this hotel was all the garbage cans in the breakfast room were overflowing and the table I sat at was dirty. I told the person at the front desk and they said the person working the kitchen would get to it. 25 min later garbage cans remain untouched. Table we sat at was dirty and I had to wipe it down myself.
