Holiday Inn Express Scottsdale North by IHG

Positive: Cleanliness and prrsonnel Negative: They were remodeling two days I was there and it bothered sleeping. Also they shut off water for several hours. It was unacceptable

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express on Gold Dust Street as part of a Holiday Inn Club Vacations promotional stay, and the condition of our room has been extremely disappointing. Multiple outlets don’t work, the shower head is corroded, the curtain is torn, the tub has black marks, and there were old food crumbs on the bathroom floor. The toilet barely flushes, the AC/heater is loud and clanks constantly, the ceiling fan doesn’t work, and paint is peeling from the ceiling. When we asked about improving the situation, we were told nothing could be done because we already completed the tour and received the promotional reward. That response was frustrating. This experience has not reflected well on the brand

Stayed there for five nights. It’s in a great location, north central of Scottsdale. They provide a great complimentary breakfast, first place I’ve ever seen an automatic pancake maker, the attendant was the best I’ve had. The rooms are quite dated, but very comfortable. The tv channel selection was the largest I’ve seen in year, everything!! We had an issue with the shower, reported it to front desk, wasn’t expecting much, but they sent up a repair man within minutes and he fixed everything in under 10 mins. Very impressed.

Edited to add: apparently there was an issue with my 3rd party payment so they charged my card for incidentals. Basically changing me twice for a crappy room that I had to leave early and was able to reheat my food. When I called was told there was no manager in today and they will pass it on again BEWARE BEFORE BOOKING ESPECIALLY 3RD PARTY. Water was due to be turned off during the day which ruined my plans for the hot tub. (Unable to shower after). Was wanting to reheat my dinner to find I had no microwave. The hall was smelled of mold and/or mildew. When I talked to the front desk was told since I booked 3rd party I get what I get. The room was nice but that's the only saving grace. Would think twice before staying here again. BEWARE BEFORE BOOKING.

The room was basic and provided what we needed. The bed was Ultra comfortable!! 10/10 for the bed! Front desk staff was less than friendly, except for the gentlemen that worked the late evening shifts. The breakfast attendant was so sweet! She was always busy and making sure everything was filled and hot! |The bathroom had soap dispensers on the wall NEXT to the sink! Not close at all to where you wash your hands. To top it off, they were placed over 5 feet up the wall. We stayed 4 nights and only received house keeping one day, but only had a do not disturb sign up one day. |Very convenient location!
