Holiday Inn Express Oneonta by IHG

On our trip from VT back to DC on Dec 28 we decided to spend the night in Oneonta because a serious freezing rain storm arrived several hours earlier than expected. Our adult daughter. my husband I were relieved and delighted to find two adjoining rooms in this really great motel—very comfortable, well appointed rooms with everything we needed, including a very good complimentary breakfast before we continued on our way home. |The staff member who registered us was helpful and welcoming.|We’re not likely to be spending the night in this region again but we unreservedly hive his Holiday inn Express our highest recommendation!

Positive: Very nice hotel! The breakfast buffet was so good and had such a great variety of hot food, and it tasted good. The bed was SO comfortable. By far the best we had stayed at in our 2 week trip of different hotels. Negative: Nothing

Stayed for 3 nights. The front desk workers were very kind, the breakfast attendant was also very kind. No issues there. The one and only major issue i experienced is my privacy was not respected. I work overnight shifts. On my 2nd day staying I arrived back to the hotel around 9:30am after a 10 hour shift. Ate breakfast quickly and went back to my room to sleep. I quickly fell asleep with the blinds shut to block some of the sun light. A couple hours into my sleep I was woken up by my room door slamming shut which shocked me. I got up to see that room service came into my room while I WAS ASLEEP. they opened the blinds, moved things around, and cleaned the bathroom. While I appreciate those things getting done it was very unsettling to know they did not knock or if they did I did not hea

This is located in a pretty area, with low mountains.|When we checked in at night, we were offered some fresh-baked cookies, individually wrapped; it was a very nice, welcoming touch!|The room was beautiful; it had everything that we needed, including lots of good lighting options; it was clean. Great, spacious bathroom with a large shower with a little bench to sit on, if you needed to. |Beautiful breakfast area. Breakfast was good!|For coffee, the hotel has coffee machines that freshly brew medium roast. I wish they had an option to make the coffee with half the water, because the coffee tasted weak.|Hotel front desk staff were friendly and helpful.|We enjoyed our stay here! We would enjoy staying here again!

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Oneonta.||||This property is pretty typical of a Holiday Inn Express built or extensively renovated within the past seven or eight years. The decor isn’t the very latest brand look but still feels reasonably fresh.||||The rooms are spacious and decently appointed. The TV was a bit smaller than what’s now standard at newer properties — closer to 42-45 inches instead of the 55-inch screens you often see today. The in-room refrigerator is the type that only keeps already-cold items cool; it won’t chill a room-temperature drink, which is frustrating if you want a cold beer or cold bottle of white wine.||||Cleanliness was better than average with no issues. Some signs of wear and tear are creeping in — worn carpets, cracked bathroom tiles, that sort of thing
