Holiday Inn Express Devils Lake by IHG

I would have given it three or four stars had there not been a few issues. Most of the hotel was pretty clean, but my bedding had all these little black hairs like eyelashes or something which is pretty gross. There was no do not disturb sign provided in my room and then I was woken up shortly after 8:00 a.m. to a knock at my door and room service opening my door when I'm still undressed in bed. Why would they come into my room when I haven't checked out and it's still pretty early in the morning? It's ridiculous.

We have stayed here for the past few years for our annual family reunion that is held out in Graham's Island. The room was fine upon our arrival, but if you are expecting anything to be done during the week you will be sadly mistaken. I know some hotels have gone to an every other day cleaning/replenishing schedule although nothing was posted at this hotel about that. We booked our stay for 5 nights. On Day 3, the garbage was emptied and we got a few new towels but that was it. The bed was not made, the shampoo and conditioner as well as hand soap were not replaced. When my husband went down that night, the man at the front desk was very apologetic and gave us some new supplies. On Day 5, they didn't even come into our room. So no garbage taken out, no new towels, no shampoo or conditione

Oct. 3, 2025 We were greeted by a non smiling clerk at check in. She made inappropriate comments about if you can't walk too far, her mother uses a Walker?? The room was musty and smelled damp. I cleaned out the filters from the A/C unit and brought the dirt to front desk. My family are world travelers and Diamond members and compared to other IHG hotels, this was the worst. The pool was disgusting, hot tub out of service, floors and rug were filthy. Our feet were black. When we confronted the actual manager, rather than listen to a customer and defuse the situation, stood up for the clerk and responded with, "o we have gotten but good complements about her"

Staff were hands down some of the best I have encountered when it comes to friendliness. The room needs to be updated as there was a broken windows, black mold in the shower, the curtain looked like it had been caught in a small fire, and the carpets looked like there had been 20 years of grime caked into the fibers. It was convenient for Devils Lake and the staff were wonderful, but the facilities do need updating.

Great place to stay when flying in or out. Nice rooms. Friendly staff. Liquor store across the street to stock up for those in flight beverages
